Forums - Gaming - Quick question regarding Forza 3 and/or GT5. Keep it civil.

@Taz!Thanks for answering so many questions. Very appreciated.

2) there will be 16 cars - it's just like normal GT races but on the Nascar tracks with Nascar cars.
3) way more customization options(basically you can build your own car, paint it all you like etc. customization in Forza series always been generations ahead of any console game), in Forza cars handle more realistically. in the last episode of InsideSimRacing.TV they said Forza 3 have physics just like pc racing sim so it's pretty hardcore, but you have an option to have some more casual racing style there.

#2.) Would you happen to have a link to confirm that by any chance? I am only curious because if PD is getting the NASCAR liscense from EA (Or whoever currently has it) it would be upsetting to see that I will only be getting less than half of what NASCAR races tend to include. If GT5 has a NASCAR mode I won't be too thrilled about racing a NASCAR season with only 16 opponents, just like how I like the sound of the Forza 3 options but am not thrilled about having just 7 opponents to worry about on a big track.

#3.) Not worried at all about external customization, but when you say "build your own car", can I get a good idea of what it means by renting and checking out Forza 2?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

2) well we don't have confirmation, but there will be maximum 16 cars in all non-Nascar normal races and on the last trailer there was only 16 cars on the Nascar track so i guess you will only have that many there.

3) yeah Forza 2 will be a nice indicator of what you will get with Forza 3.

Alright then, i'll put Forza 2 on my Gamefly queue.

I'll see what it's all about.

I'm pretty sure the nascar racing part of GT5 will be like a normal nascar race where there are 40 some cars and it will probably be on official nascar race tracks.

Honestly i would get both...they both are looking amazing.

good idea.  And remember...whatever forza 2 feels like, Forza 3 will most likely be way better in every aspect...

Im not sure. As you know cars in GT and Forza are beautifully designed, I thin getting 40 of them on one track would be a stretch.

And yes, the games will be awesome!!!!

I don't have money to waste on 2 racing games considering that I do not care too much for the racing genre to begin with.

I need something to play when my brother comes home every once in a while or when my Father actually feels like playing something with me on the sofa. He is a big NASCAR fan so I am leaning towards one for that alone and having double the cars available to drive as well as double the cars on the tracks during races also leans me heavily in favor of one of these titles.

Game can look as nice as it wants but in the end some things far outweigh the others. I still however want to see how extnesive Forza's tweaking options really are, although to be completely honest it really needs to be something really special and makes me go "WOW!" to shift my preference at the moment.

Who knows, it just might.

I assumed Forza matched Gran Turismo in terms of cars on the track during races and was quite upset to hear that that is not the case.

Not to sound like a jerk, but after all of the recent "Definitive racing game" garbage that has flooded the net lately I must admit that the information I just learned in this thread really really disappoints me.

Well that would suck if they only have 16 nascar cars on the track...I'd rather not have that feature if they gimp it like that.  But i am fully confident that PD can pull it off, you might not be able to play multiplayer with nascar but i'm sure they could figure out single player and make it work.

Well i guess you could buy the one that suits you most, and just rent the other from gamefly.

Gran Turismo 5 might not be out by early 2010 looks more and more like a March 2010 release or later (Gamestop has a release date of 5/3/2010 currently). I would go for both games since Forza 3 will be out when you get your income tax money and by the time GT5 is released you should have enough money saved up to buy it also. Unless Forza 3 turns out bad then I would skip it and wait for GT5.
