Forums - Gaming - Will motion controls depose normal controls?End or new beginning?

Since Sony and Microsoft jumped to motion controls with Wii, some people are worrying about where we are going.

Will all Ps3 and Xbox 360 games get updates for motion controls?

Mgs 4 on motion control?Gears of war?

I don't know how many Wii users use Camecube controls but I bet not many.

So IF motion controls depose of Normal controls, will it start something new in gaming world or end something?

Well if they're as shitty as Sony's, Nintendo's and Microsoft's motion controls, it'll be the end of console gaming... for me =)

I'll go with end something, at least for me anyway. I've already said many times that if all consoles go to motion controls as standard for their next consoles I am moving back to PC gaming. I would hope that either Sony or Microsoft would still keep the current standard controller around.

I doubt Microsoft will drop there normal controller. They can have two markets if they keep both, motion control fans and analog control fans.

It's a bad idea to divide your market like that, because the two would end up in a darwinian contest, and only one would survive

Aside from the fact that the more successful games of this generation have been the bridge games, so companies should know better than to pursue a strategy of mutual alienation.

I myself would see an enduring solution similar to what Nintendo has now with the Wii remote and Nunchuk, which can be used like a traditional controller perfectly well (only for the lack of a second analogue, but the IR is superior for games that really depend on second analogue anyway), or Sony's idea for a modular controller.

A motion controller can be the default standard without motion controls becoming ubiquitous, which would be the easiest and most acceptable solution for everyone (except for a few extremists out there, but the gains from the solution will more than make up for their loss)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think Motion Controls could be next step in tech with 3D tv:s but I just want to play with control.I really can't see how to play with motion controls game like devil may cry or metal gear solids.
