Sorry, have Assassins Creed 2 and No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle to buy.

Sure no problem. They don't have any games I'm interested in anyway :)

I love boycotts, you know why? It's saying to everyone you're not going to buy something you never intended to buy in the first place. I don't like a majority of Ubisoft games, in fact for this gen I only own one game with their tag on the front and it's not even developed by them, but I don't go around saying how everyone should stop buying Ubisoft games cause if a million people buy a game I detest, then that means I have to convince those million people not to buy it again, for while 90% of the time they wouldn't listen, a majority are not even on the net in the forums, and could give two shits about my reasons as they obviously enjoy buying those games.

Well you are partially wrong - boycotts can work if they are park of huge media shitstorm - best example is EA DRM removal.

My statement is more of the general "boycott" in America.  Like there was supposed to be a gas boycott couple of years ago and it failed pretty hard obviously.  DRM itself is easy to get taken out since you buy a product you should be allowed to install it to as many computers as you want and not be spyed on to make sure you're not pirating your copy, it doesn't work and just makes people mad.

I don't think most of the people responding are saying they will boycott Ubisoft, but using this thread to voice their grievances against Ubisoft.

I certainly won't boycott Ubisoft, although I don't intend on buying Assassin's Creed 2, even if it gets excelent reviews, during the first weeks. I don't feel like buying 2 games just to get one good one.

If you're comparing this to the thread about L4D2 I think it's completely different. The people who are protesting against L4D2 (hardcore PC gamers) are protesting because they feel that they got an incomplete game, promised by Valve to be finished through free updates, and that they're being forced to buy another game that's the finished version, and they feel that Valve becoming more of a console centric developer. It's baisicly the same old shit when a PC centric developer (e.g. Bethesda) starts moving towards the consoles.

This (I don't even know if there's an actual boycott/protest) is based on the opinions of people who felt that Ubisoft have consistently made shitty ass games.

I don't think that warrants a boycott, but it's their opinions, and I sorta understand/relate due to every single game I bought from Ubisoft being a dissapointment this gen. I loved Ubisoft last generation, Splintercell was by far, one of my favorite game series.

Hmmm...that just got me thinking. That boycott last year was started because Ubisoft didn't announce Red Steel 2(which ended up getting announced), Shawn White looked like crap(which ended up being a damn good game and better than the HD versions), too many Petz games got announced(which ended up turning up better in quality than past games...or so I've read from the reviews), and a company representative slighted Wii fans(who turned out to just be another Onyxmeth forum moderator). Wow. What a well thought out boycott that was.

What are Wii fans getting nowadays? Anno: Dawn of Discovery, Red Steel 2, Rabbids Go Home, Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templar, Tenchu: Shadow Assassins and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up.

Some of you just speak up far too quickly for your own good.

To the author of the new boycott, I pray you're joking.

Don't forget My Shape and the Ubi Motion Cam for the Wii

@ akvod There was an Ubisoft "boycott" on this site about a year ago and it was just as silly then. Wii owners were supposed to boycott Ubisoft because they were funding their big budget games for the 360 and PS3 with the sales of their horrible casual games that they were releasing on the Wii. That's what I was referring to.

I think that they have developed plenty of good games and plenty of bad games. This is what most really big developers like Ubisoft do. It's definitely a business for them.
