Forums - Nintendo - Is anybody else excited about Spirit Tracks?

I just group them with the Zelda II: The Adventure of Link haters.

I really enjoyed PH alot, but it did have some issues. The biggest complaint I had was the returning to the temple of the Ocean King. That seemed like a cop-out to extend the gameplay but not gives us alot of dungeons. I think it also made the world feel smaller, which is not good for a Zelda game.

I look foward to spirit tracks and hope that its more epic than PH.

I love PH, it was FUN, unlike TP. I'm excited about ST

I don't want to offend anybody here, but I don't see what's so hard to understand. In my opinion, Phantom Hourglass is poorly controlled, tedious and repetitive, and the least fun of all the 3D Zelda games. It felt watered down, and as I played it more, my sense of disappointment continued to grow until I stopped playing it altogether. It's just my opinion, and I know for a fact that a large amount of longtime Zelda fans feel the same way.

Calling me crazy or judging me based on my opinion seems a bit elitist. Wondering how it's possible that other people don't enjoy a game that you personally enjoyed seems a bit ignorant. Maybe I'm overthinking though.

On a side note, Zelda II is my least favourite Nintendo developed 2D Zelda.

See, I was right, I can lump you in with the Zelda II haters.

I had no problem with the controls at all, and thought they were great. They were different and worked well in my opinion, but I could see how some people wouldn't like them. I thought controlling your items were great. You could be swinging your sword around, and with L button quickly switch back and forth between items. I also loved that I could make my boomberang go wherever I wanted.

I can see how some might think the game is a little boring/tedious due to the overworld, which I'm not a huge fan of, however I don't think it knocks it down so far as to say that the game is the worst Zelda. Granted all the Zeldas are great so being the worst Zelda can still be an excellent game.

And yes, I can be elitist, as I've beaten Zelda II, and you are only a hardcore elitest player if you've beaten Zelda II

Well, I beat a good chunk of it before I quit. Next time I decide to play it, I'll make sure to finish it so I can be a hardcore elitist player too

spirit tracks kills the Zelda world..worse than WW does..
I'm sorry..this train crap looks like..well..crap
so...I'll pass
I'm actually not interested..at all..and that's odd
I've been interested in even WW..so...*shrugs*
they better make a better one..

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Not terribly excited about it yet, but I probably will be, closer to release.

Phantom Hourglass was a great game, it's just that for a Zelda game, it wasn't really up to par with the rest of the franchise. It felt kinda empty and simple, and altogether unmemorable, compared to the epic greatness of pretty much every other Zelda game. Still, compared to other (3rd party) games, it was really good.

I'll definitely be buying ST, the game looks great fun and seems to contain some cool new ideas and mechanics. :)

Where is my portable Ocarina of Time? :(

But yes I am excited.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I didn't think much of either NES Zeldas,Startopics and Crystalis easily better IMO.

Personally best 2D zelda was Links Awakening DX on GBC.
