Microsoft's strong global lead and reasonable European lead is holding, but they should move to ensure their lead somehow.
It is likely that with a $50 price cut (and European equivelant), the PS3 will comfortably outsell the Xbox 360. Now obviously Microsoft has just as much scope to cut price (or more) than Sony, but it is in their best interests I would say too offer more incentives for purchase through games, advertising, and an updated and US-equivelant online marketplace.
Whilst Microsoft's American market is much more likely to stand up to a PS3 price cut, they wont have that luxury in Europe, however far off such a cut may be.
