Forums - Nintendo - Future wii games to play them selves!!!

'"On the extraordinary success of its Nintendo Wii video game console, Nintendo says it's due, in part, to making games accessible to wide audiences.

And with an unannounced – but now confirmed – feature built into future Nintendo Wii titles, the Japanese gaming giant is taking this accessibility to the next level.

Beginning with the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii (due this holiday season), players will be able to pause a game during a particularly difficult level and let the game take over to complete the level. Press a button at any time to resume playing. This will help reduce barriers of entry for new or younger players – without purchasing a strategy guide or resorting to websites that list cheat codes.

In an exclusive interview with Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary game designer confirmed this optional feature called "demo play" (tentative name) is something the development team has been working on.

"In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if a player is experiencing an area of difficulty, this will allow them to clear troubled areas and take over when they're ready" confirmed Miyamoto, through his translator. "And yes, we're looking into this for future games, too" Miyamoto says."'

I've always said in the past that Nintnedo wii would usher in the "win button", and despite me just bringing some hate on the wii in a sarcastic tone, I actually never thought they'd actually do it....well low and behold my past comments have come true....it is a sad day to be a gamer regardless of the console you own...at this stage all I have left to say is....seriously WTF!!!

What say you people of Nintendo fandumn?

Let's see if third parties will start to use this.

That's good. If I don't want to play a game to see a ending I'll just let the game do it for me

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)

And it's totally optional, and the progress the AI makes doesn't save, so...

Even if optional, this option should never be in a game, this option infacts strips the game of what it is and that is fun and challenging.

if used the game just becomes a 3D  movie and at that stage one can stop calling it a game and simply call it a movie.

Thanks for the link, but I prefer my own thread :D

at that stage, why not watch a movie, cuz clearly your not interested in "playing" the game.

youtube beat them to it

Really thats just sad and really low. An insult to hardcore gamers, imo.

I have this game already.

It was Super Mario bros the movie,I sat and watched....it sucks at playing itself, everything seemed wrong.

Did you totally skip over the part where I said it doesn't save if you use it?

so what, the player can just break out of demo option and save the damn game and then go back to demo mode, but that's not the point, the point is that this option shouldn't be available to begin with, it literally turns the game into a movie but in a bad way, and if your gonna do that you may as well as watch a real movie rather than say your gonna play a game, and then just merely watch it play it's self.

It's like anyone who defends this is against challenge in a game, and against gaming all together cuz that's what games essentially are. Now I now Nintendo is meant to God, but even so, god makes mistakes and just because there God doesn't mean we have to like that mistake.
