I said it had 'more' to do with the 360 doing better. Yes, the PS3 doing crap compared to the PS2 still effects it greatly, but the 360 doing far far far far far far better than the Xbox effects it MORE
Ps2 was the first place console last gen in Japan, now this place belongs to DS, so, comparing 360 with DS and PS3 with DS would be the right thing to do. So, we have a 30:1 ratio with DS:360 and 10:1 DS:ps3. Both are terrible, but at least ps3 have 3 million sellers for sure in Japan Alone (FFXIII,FFversusXIII and GT5).
Japan will never be what used to be, it's time to expand to other regions.
The Ps3 is "dominating" the X360 in Japan. There's really no way around that. Sure, it may not be selling 40:1 like the Ps2:XB ratio was, but if you do that, even the Wii is far from dominating. It looks like it's gonna end at less than 8:1 in Japan.
Edit: Nevermind, misread between PsP and Ps3 on the yearly pages (the first part is still there, just erased my second and third paragraph).

And what exactly Sony done in that time?
All of the February/march PS3 rise was thirdy party stuff with some bundling which Sony does for most of big games there.

Alright enough, you are the one spinning this into a "PS3 is still selling like $hit compared to last generation's PS2 at the same time frame" to avoid the fact that despite being the pirce of a DS the XBOX 360 cannot outsell a console that $400 in Japan. Once the PS3 is $300(30,000 yen) and GRAN TURISMO 5 is out in japan, we will see whether or not the PS3 can close the gap with the ps2. Right now its not a fair comparison.

where in the world is the 360 the price of the DS. ANd even it is atleast it hasn't lost as much money as SONY. Apple could sell IPods for $500 and they will still sell and they will probably be still in the top 3 world leaders. Does that make them feel good? NO. 360s price is the same as the PS2 in the equivalent time frames. Its price correctly and with all its accessories its the same price as the PS3 so stop that price argument.
We all know SONY was dumb and stupid for cramming everthing in the PS3. Dont have to rub it in. MS was smart SONY wasnt
