Forums - Sales - At least 20 million Wii MotionPlus sold in 2009

It could (easily) meet or surpass those numbers depending on how games like Tiger Woods takes off ... While I would say it is unlikely for this to happen, if enough people wanted to try out motion plus early or were interested in a better golf simulation, Tiger Woods could potentially sell 2 to 5 million copies on the Wii

Keep in mind a lot of WSR users are going to buy two WM+'s not just the one that comes with the game.

Red Steel 2 + Tiger Woods PGA should move a combined 1.5-2 million WM+s as well.

Yeah I counted those (with a guess of 5-6 million).

@HappySqurriel: Yeah that's another game which should contribute quite a lot, it must be catching people's attention after the positive reviews.

Honestly I think Nintendo may want to give some real thought to putting Wii Sports + Resort onto one disc and bundling it with each new Wii this fall + Motion Plus. And bring that Jet Black Wii to the US while they're at it.

I don't think that's necessary at all. They'll make a lot more money selling it separately.

If Nintendo can supply them, they will sell.

Does anybody know the cheapest way to buy Nintendo stock?

Maybe I'll just buy multiple copies of WSR and sell them on Ebay this holiday season.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I can see 10-15 million sales of MP. I don't think WSR will break 10 million this year but I reckon it will get close. With third party games like Tiger Woods being bundled with it 10-15 million seems reasonable to me. If it does sell 20 million surely the amount of money Nintendo would get would make them so rich they could pay people to eat their own heads.

I think its feasable. While there's the Wii Fit argument, like Phrancyze said, people only but 1 balance board. Yet, WM+ is a lot cheaper and would be needed for each controller, so each person would be buying 4. So take your 20 mil, divide by 4, and you have 5 mil people would need to buy WM+ for each of the 4 controllers. 5 mil people is roughly 10% of the userbase.

If that argument doesn't sit well, then just assume people buy 1 WM+. That's only about 40% of the Wii owners to buy ONE WM+ unit to reach your numbers.

Either way, I think its quite possible.

I don't know if WSR will move the numbers we talk of it doing. The problem is, it doesnt have that brand new experience that caused everyone to jump to wii fit.

The people who continue to play wii sports aren't sitting there like "man, I wish this game had a little stronger controls!"

I think WM+ will do well, especially with all the bundles out there for it. However, I don't think it will jump so quickly.

"Only" 10 million I think. SMB3 sold 18 million though.
