so when did it actually shrunk cause at the beginning of 2009 it was almost 7.7mln and now it's 8mln. i always thought that shrinking means getting smaller but i guess i was wrong.

actually the gap is getting bigger... but there have been many adjustments in favor of PS3. It likely is residue from the xmass periode sales I guess.

It's not magic. 360's exclusive lineup for the year has been trash. I point you towards Ninja Blade. Are you surprised gamers are more excited for inFamous then they are Ninja Blade?

We are all waiting on the adjustments and the gap will be even closer. 7.9 million again? lol. 360 just can not get the gap to 8 million on PS3 despite the year headstart in NA and Japan and 16 months headstart in Europe on PS3 and its half the price of PS3. $199 360 Versus $399 PS3.

PS3 price drops and goodbye to the Xbox 360 sales lead. The western world catches on and buys PS3 and then all three regions buy more PS3s than XBox 360s worldwide the gap will soon close and PS3 will overtake the 360 in two years time.

All three FF games will be on PS3 two of them exclusive to PS3: FFXIV and FF Versus XIII. FFXIII exclusive to PS3 in Japan region which will alone help push PS3 console sales.

please don't make me do a list of 360 exclusive games that were released in first half of 2009 cause Killzone 2 and Infamous(that were the only exclusive games for ps3 in the first half of 2009) even though they are good games looks pretty bad as a line-up compared to 360 games.

This is the slow time of year, so a 10k per week advantage is actually pretty good. Esp... considering that the PS3 has had some exclusives drop recently that were highly touted. If your a Ps3 fan, you should be wondering why the PS3 isn't doing better.

Fall and Christmas will be where the PS3 or 360 wins the year (for hd consoles) and either pulls farther ahead or norrows the margin. Just like last year.

The PS3 is at least Double a 360's price. Even if this IS the slow period of the year, the 360 should be outselling PS3 by close to double at all times.....but its not. PS3 is struggling in a deminishing economy yet some how keeps holding it's own. MS has put out more exclusive...content(not so much as games, GTA LatD is not a GAME) this year which they are touting to be the next big things.

I do agree that the biggest differences will come in the fall, where the biggest games of the year will be as well as rumoured PS3 price drop(maybe MS?).

Last time I checked Microsoft does sale other models than just the Arcade.  So while the arcade is good for budget customers, it isn't the only thing selling.  While having a lower price point is helpful, it doesn't help out as much as one would think this time of year.  Where the price point matters most is near Christmas time when mom and pop are deciding what to buy.

That logic is so bass-ackwards. You assume all consumers have similar disposable income, for one. Do Kia Rios outsell Honda Accords by double? Are they expected to in order to be successful? Of course not. And, as so many cows like to point out (I'm sure I'd find it in your post history somewhere), the 360 has added costs for LIVE, Wi-Fi, etc. that the PS3 doesn't. So every 360 Arcade purchase most likely ends up costing the consumer 250-300$ or so. That's not close to 1/2 the price of a PS3.

To explain why your logic fails. If someone goes into bestbuy looking for a 360 you think the worker there is going to say: "did you know that PS3 has Free online, bluray, wi-fi, rechargeable controllers and is less likely to break?" Hells no he's going to sell him the 360 and every possible accesory and add on he can.
