Digital delivery of games and gaming content is the inevitable future. But how prevalent is it in the present? The NPD Group estimate that, as it stands, digital downloads on a console are doing...OK.

The retail tracking firm reckon that, of all Xbox Live "Gold" subscribers, 18% of them "regularly download from Xbox Live Arcade". When it comes to the PlayStation Network, things aren't quite as big, as only an estimated 10% of account holders "regularly buy digitally from Sony's PlayStation Network".

It's important to note that this survey isn't counting somebody who bought a single copy of Street Fighter II over XBLA and left it at that. It's tracking those who buy, and buy often.

well, i don't buy much. just mass effect dlc, lost odyssey dlc and soon to be banjo dlc

I'll be getting fat princess for sure.

I don't buy much, but I've bought Castlevania:SOTN, Penny Arcade: Episode 1 (at half price) and Mass Effect DLC. I'm gonna buy the DLC for Lost Odyssey, and maybe The Epilogue for Prince of Persia. I will probably buy the rest of the Penny Arcade episodes as well, even though they're rather expensive.

Not me i hate arcade games, i only get map packs and dlc. Its pointless thought with my small 20gb hdd for my 360. I can only install 1 game at a time.

Ive bought alot.
3on3 NHL, Stardust HD, Flower, LBP DLC(costumes, level packs etc.), GH DLC, KZ2 DLC... hmm think thats it. And ill be dl Fat Princess once that is released.

Today i was stuck between Altered Beast and Sonic 3, i went for the latter though.

I but too much from the psn, I need to cut down ¬_¬

I buy MANY things over Xbox Live. Over 500$ spent online on Xbox Live.

XBLA games: over 15.
Rock Band 2 songs: too many!!!! (60 or so...)
Lips songs: over 15 songs.
Premium Themes: 2 of them.
Some DLC: Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Crackdown, etc.

I also buy my Xbox Live Gold annual fee online, via Xbox Live.


On PSN, I bought about 8 games and many Singstar Songs. But that's about it.

I buy more stuff off XBLA but thats because we have two 360's vs one PS3, and we have more games for the 360 for the DLC..

That and XBLA having more stuff to dowload doesn't help... lol
