Can someone please tell me what trading card game in the last five years hasn't been based off an already-popular franchise of some nature? I can't think of any besides Yu-Gi-Oh!, which was based off a popular anime. Before that it was Pokémon, based off one of the most popular franchises in modern history. Before that was a true original in Magic the Gathering.
I can't think of any recent examples of card games based on a new universe that sell well.

Card games are mostly popular on the handhelds and indeed among young children. PS3 might be a bit too much to ask for, although the idea is original. Plus this thing will cost 100 Euro in Europe, which is about 140USD!!

It seems like a nice idea. But it will flop due to lack of convinence and easy cheating.

for one its 70 but the cards can also be purchased separately. And when I have enough cash because im buying R&C, Uncharted, UT3,
