Metroid Other M to sell atleast 1.5 - 2 million units? That’s exactly what Nintendo wants from the title.

In a recent video interview with Gamespot, president of NOA (Nintendo North America), Reggie Fils-Aime states that “Metroid is a key franchise, and in our view really since the Snes Metroid, we havent broken through in terms of 1.5 - 2 millions units. Thats our bar. Thats the scale that we look at to say on a global basis this is effective.”

Reggie goes on to say that Metroid Other M could be the Metroid title that goes on to break that mark with the game going more into the mythology of Samus. From the trailer and the direction they are going with the title we think that estimate may be a good one to have.

Well, the Wii userbase should be big by the time Metroid releases (>65million) and the Metroid Trilogy may help expand the group of potential buyers.
I think they should have higher goals than 1.5-2 millions, at least 3-4millions, cause that would be more of a challenge and prove they are serious about it. In my eyes, that is.

Two complaints, and even then the source's title can be misleading, just keeping things civilized here.

tbh those who complained were too sensitive the title wasn't trollish or anything like that never mind  the source had the same title in the first place

Well even I took it to mean something else when I looked at it but then reading the actual quote it wasn't that way at all, they're just setting a bar, just because that site allows for misleading titles most likely to get more hits doesn't mean we allow it here :P

The COnduit will bring in hardcore people

Then Metroid the other M will get more sales

Hell....it should do at least that...

It's all about the advertising. I'm just waiting for the day a video game makes its way into a burger king kid's meal. that= instant 5m sold.
