woo, I lost 0.9lb, so yay for all of us (of course, I expect a slight bounce back up due to at least half of that being water weight)

Also, I just joined my-calorie-counter.com which is run by everydayhealth.com and is an online health journal. I'm only using it for my calorie counting, which I've been doing in my head for a while, but this is so much easier once you get it set up how you want. Obviously Calories in vs. Calories out is the ultimate bottom line for losing weight, so hopefully this will really help.

You can specify specific daily dietary goals for yourself too and it will show you how far you need to go to meet them. So I have it set to 2200 Calories, 100g Protein, 286g Carbs, and 73g of Fat. It will show me my average over time, so I can go above some days, and under other days and keep on a steady diet.

My favorite thing about this setup, is that it splits food you eat into breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack, so I can easily plan my day's diet ahead of time and know how many calories I am going to consume. So after I eat dinner tonight, I will have ~570 calories left to eat.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

update: I did my full Wii Fit workout last night 66 min and a little one this morning 30 min (to try to pre-emptivley strike the weight Ill gain from the snacks during the hockey game tonight) and I'm - 1.7 pounds, only 1.2 away from my 2 week goal of -5 pounds and with 4 days left.

Epic thread imminent.

Pixel Art can be fun.

DAY 6

Today I had off on my 30-day challenge, but I again posted a 0.9lb loss this morning when I weighed myself. I will probably go home and do some push-ups and jackknives neither of those groups of muscles has been exercised by EA Sports Active yet. Also hockey night will surely make me want to eat something. I'll be really close to my calorie limit after dinner tonight, so a little exercise should allow me to snack while watching

I'm rooting for Detroit tonight. I don't know why as I don't care too much for either team, but Pittsburgh is the arch nemesis city of Philadelphia.

woot adding this for fun

Day 7,8,9

So after 1 week of calorie counting and exercising with EA Sports Active I'm down 2.0 lb (bounced back up a tiny bit at the end which was expected) so I'm quite happy with the results. I swapped out the resistance band with a much tougher one. I can't use it for lateral raises, so I still use the band that came with the game. But my muscles are actually sore now after exercising.

Today is an off day which I really needed, as my legs were just getting to tired to really push my exercises. Tomorrow I plan to start off strong again and hopefully get to try out some more exercises that I haven't hit yet.

Some reason I tend to lose more weight on my off days. Maybe it is due to me eating less because I tend to grub down on the days I exercise a lot. I also drink a ton of water during those days also so maybe it is the water weight.

Day 10,11,12,13,14 (day 15 is tomorrow, but it is a rest day)
lb lost total: 4

So I'm half way into my EA Sports Active 30-Day Challenge, and I've lost 4lb even as of waking up this morning which is perfect. This was accomplished by the combination of exercising on medium intensity (with increased resistance band) and eating ~2000 calories every day. At this pace I should meet my goal of getting down to 180 in ~12 weeks which would land me on Aug 29th. If I can meet this goal I will be very happy.

Overall, I'd rate the first half of the 30-day challenge as a good exercise routine. Not the best in the world, but hey if it can get you to exercise and be conscious of your health it is totally worth it. Overall it does an excellent job with your legs, but it does under-exercise your arms and upper body. Increasing the resistance bands like I did helps, but my arms never burn like my legs do. The running in place is ok. For a non-runner like me it is long enough to get my heart going for a minute, but not so long that I give up from being too tired which is good. Balance board support has been sparse, but part of that is my fault as I didn't realize that if it wants to do Balance Board exercises and the board is off it will automatically switch out the choices. So make sure your Balance Board is on before approving the list of exercises.

This EA sports active sounds like a good package I have to do more research, is the Ea sports active more effcient compared to Wii fit? Is there a program that is aimed at your biceps and abs???

Sony Leader out

There are 3 biceps exercises I've done so far in EA Sports active, which is 3 more than I remember being in Wii Fit, but it has been a while since I ran through the strength exercises as I only use it now for pushups, crunches, Yoga, and weighing myself. However, the 3 exercises I've done are just variations on bicep curls, so bicep curls + something else.

As for abs, they have a few exercises that work ab muscles, but nothing that makes them burn. It never asks you to get down on the floor and do a crunch either, which is about the best you can do if you want to strengthen ab muscles.

There are a few workouts that target the upper body specifically, but I haven't tried them as I'm doing the 30-day Challenge. There are plenty of routines to choose from that go 20-min, to 60-min, and are for various types of routines. Also, you can make your own so you can target whatever you want.

As for being more efficient, yes EA Sports active is more efficient because it strings all the exercises together. In Wii Fit you have to select 1 exercise after the other which takes time to flip through them. Also, I'm only on medium intensity and I feel I get a good workout out of it. Going up to high intensity would probably be too much for me at the moment.

tbh its the most important game for me personally ive probobly ever played

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
