Forums - Gaming - Team Ico series has overtaken Zelda as greatest adventure series!! By MM.2.

LOL Megaman, you're really trying to dig into Zelda lately. You must have some serious insecurities about the new Zelda announced. SotC was a solid game, tho a bit short, shorter than the Zelda game you compare it to. As for your friend at Game, he sounds like a fanboy. You can tell him that a game developer said so.

How has the quality of the Zelda games not been consistent? Besides selling over 5 million most of the times and getting more than 90% ratings by critics, what else have they done wrong?

Let me address this!

First of all when I said that the quality had been declining I was merely speaking from my own personal experience, there is no need to mention the sales. Great sales do not equal great game, my personal taste differs that of the critics. No need to hate me, we all have different gaming standards and taste, sadly Zelda failed to meet that high standard

Sony Leader out!

1. Great sales do not equal great game, though it is an indicator of what the consumers like best.  If consumers thought MGS4 was better than Wii Fit, they would have bought that instead, but they didn't.

2. Now you're talking about your personal opinions.  When you title your thread "Team Ico series has overtaken Zelda..." as if it's a news event and open your first post with "I think it's a well known fact yet not been documented" it comes across as that you are saying that the content is fact.  If you'd retitle your thread to "In my opinion, Team Ico series..." and take out the first sentence of your first post, the post will seem more credible.

You have made some excellent point kudos. I have also incorporated the thoughts of the community

Listen guy....you're a good guy and everything (not a douche)...but you need to stop thinking you represent the community. You being a Sony Leader is a delusion, and the sooner you stop with the charade...the better it will be

My friend what you must understand is that I am an entertainer, my job here is to entertain. Sometime I represent the community, its what I do best. The Sony leader 'thing' is just a character beside I did win the election

I'll give you that. You have earned some of my respect by defending it with mostly proper punctuation (it's), sense and humour. Good day sir...I'll be leaving this thread now. Till next time.

No.

*yawn* What a lame attempt at a comparison. Leave it alone, there's nothing to compare here, while both games are under the genre of "adventure" they are completly different in gameplay. Zelda focuses on dungeons, equipment, and small scale battles. Ico/SotC focuses on boss fights, and environment. At the end of Zelda games you feel powerful with your new equips, and upgrades (ex: bomb bags). Ico/SotC your the same as you started.

Post = Fail

Now I would call this the main thing that makes me like Team Ico more than Zelda and I'll put it really easily.  At the end of Zelda the character is different, at the end of SotC the player is different.  Team Ico have made two games that affect me emotionally more than any Zelda game ever has, and I think it's because storytelling is more of a focus for them.  In Zelda the story is something that gets you where you need to go so you can play the gameplay which is what Zelda focusses on, in Ico and SotC the story permeates throughout the entire thing and really seems to be the most important part of the game.  So it just depends what you like more.

We should close this thread now, Gaming Historian has spoken!

is this the same guy who told you KH3 is going to be a xbox exclusive ......lol

Team ico has what, two games under its belt that have gotten mediocre attention/sales? As artsy as the games are, they just fail in comparison to Zelda's prowess on the gaming field.

in other words: it's like ico and zelda at a urinal competition. Ico packs a big game but you just don't want to compare it like this
