I didn't even read the thread because I knew it was going to be ridiculous from the beginning. And you sound like you're admitting that you did make a baseless and extremely bold and specific claim, but are now justifying just because someone else did. 2 wrongs don't make a right, and you should be the better man and not succumb to illogical statements just because others are. I was skeptical of inFamous because I thought the aiming looked shitty as hell and combat seemed repeptive and unstrategic. The demo gave me a great enough taste of it (although I thought combat wasn't as nearly tactical enough), so I bought it. Once I played it, I absolutely loved the combat (especially when you got the thunder ability, jesus that's the funnest ability I've ever had, even more satisfying than firinga BFG). My point is this, there's nothing wrong with being optmistic, and I wouldn't have really cared to call out on someone who says "This will be a great game", but you gave a specific percentile, and said that people will hail it as the greatest racing game ever. That was a bit too over the top for me to just let it go, so I simply called you out, not because I have a personal vendetta against you.
Although I'll admit, because I'm a Sony fanboy, I probably let illogical statements from Sony fanboys slip by moreso than Xbox fanboys (not saying you are a fanboy) XD But I do think that Sony execs have made some arrogant and stupid claims. I just find it irking when I see hypocrites (like in the LFGM thread, or when NATAL/PSmote came out) can easily, without being embarrased that they were wrong, or admitting it, go against their words and accept something they used to bash. So now after having fun making fun of illogical statements from Sony execs (I watch the youtube videos a lot during the summer, lol. Historically accurate battles+Giant enemy crabs), that when Turn 10 is being arrogant (extremely ironically, especially after they said that PD was arrogant), and making illogical statements that it's all of a sudden "Just PR and marketing", and that Sony fanboys are blowing it out of proportion. All we're doing is just calling out someone/thing when it should be, it's foolish to try to justify/defend/spin such things (not saying you specificly are, since I didn't really read the bulky middle of the thread). |
I like your post. Good post.
