Oh, they can do wrong, but they didn't do anything wrong in this instance. Influencing a meaningless internet poll with a free nothing is NOT bribery, it's marketing, and it is the actions of 1 man, probably not even a member of the Forza team, AND it is completely and utterly meaningless, hurts no one, and helps a game that he is obviously a big fan of. If not for the fake appauled internet, this would have been a great promotional idea, actually. You don't even have to show proof you vote. You can vote infinite times. Are you kidding me.
Did you know Obama gave free rides to the polls for voters? Ooooo, bribery. To even think this is worth posting about in a way that shows offense, ASTOUNDS me.
I think this thread proves just how much of a golden cow GT to many, many people, and/or how quick people are to jump on the bandwagon of hate without even realizing why they are hating that ENTIRE COMPANY, over the actions of a forum adminstrator, which weren't even bad to begin with.
Montana, it's like me flaming ioi because of that post you just made, except I am a whole community of people, and I don't really mind the post you made, but I'm pretending, because I just wanted to flame VGChartz to begin with and you gave me an excuse.
This is hyped up Sony propoganda, no doubt perpetuated by some pro Sony blogger on Sony fansite N4G.

Again, the magnitude of the action, doesn't change the intent and action itself. Me stealing a dollar from a cahsier is still stealing, even though it's insignificant when compared to me taking the entire cahsier. We're analyzing the CHARACTER and moral integrity of the company, not the action itself, but rather only using the action as a measurement for the company's integrity.
For Obama giving free rides, he's not saying "Vote for me, and I'll give you a ride" (in fact there's no incentive to take the offer unless you wanted to vote in the first place... it's a stretch to say somebody went through all the effort to get a free ride, to the election center nonetheless), if you want to vote I'll give you a ride so you can exercise your fundamental right as an American that you were unable to do.
If Obama said "Vote for me, and I'll give you a car" then I'll be outraged.
I never played GT, and the only time I did was at Best Buy, where I thought "Wow... driving is a bitch". As for one man not being the entire company, that's a debate on its own. I remember when I was playing Hockey that we had to do our punishments as a team, just as much as we got to celebrate as a team". It's a debate on what makes a group, how we should see ourselves, our actions, the actions of others, etc. To discuss so is going to be a huge derailment.
I don't know what you're talking about with Montana, so I'll stay out.
Too bad you didn't contribute to the topic of the thread yet...

I contributed by commenting. I gave my opinion that most of the complaining in this thread is overblow, due to alterior motives.
As for this being an ideological debate, sure, technically, it was bribery, but understand this:
1. The bribery here is the provable act of 1 man, not the entire company. Yet you, yourself, claim this is indicative of the actions of the entire company. Is Acorn, then, responsible for all voter fraud? This isn't the army. There is individual responsibility. Just listen to some of the reps of Sony. However, this is a forum admin. This is the equivelant of a FAN. Is everything a Sony fan says, indicative of Sony, the company? This guy was very probably an oursource hire. You can't prove Take 10 even KNEW about this. Don't you need proof?
2. According to your example, of stealing a dollar from a cashier, this is the equivelant of stealing a penny from the cashier. Yet, to hear it told here, it is the equivelant of shooting the cashier, burning down his store, and robbing his bank. The reaction does not fit the crime.
3. I've never played Forza. I don't plan to start. Yes, that is irrelivant, but I thought I would respond to your implication.
As for montana and myself, that is our conversation. However, I was simply pointing out how blaming Take 10 for this is like blaming ioi for something he did just because he is high in the site eschelon. It is completely unfair, as is this.
Overall, however, the reality of the situation if that 99.9 percent of the people flaming Take 10 over this, are Sony fans, who just enjoy doing it. However fallacious you find my argument, that truth stands.
Just because you don't like the opinions in my comments, doesn't mean it doesn't add to the thread. Should I come back when I agree with everyone?
