Don't mind Slimebeast, he clearly just believes that Turn 10 can do no wrong. Ahh well, I reported him anyways. Regarding the thread, the CNET poll has so few responses that it means almost nothing. Both are multi-million selling franchises, and so far the poll has less than 10,000 responses. Not a big deal.

Oh, they can do wrong, but they didn't do anything wrong in this instance. Influencing a meaningless internet poll with a free nothing is NOT bribery, it's marketing, and it is the actions of 1 man, probably not even a member of the Forza team, AND it is completely and utterly meaningless, hurts no one, and helps a game that he is obviously a big fan of. If not for the fake appauled internet, this would have been a great promotional idea, actually. You don't even have to show proof you vote. You can vote infinite times. Are you kidding me.

Did you know Obama gave free rides to the polls for voters? Ooooo, bribery. To even think this is worth posting about in a way that shows offense, ASTOUNDS me.

I think this thread proves just how much of a golden cow GT to many, many people, and/or how quick people are to jump on the bandwagon of hate without even realizing why they are hating that ENTIRE COMPANY, over the actions of a forum adminstrator, which weren't even bad to begin with.

Montana, it's like me flaming ioi because of that post you just made, except I am a whole community of people, and I don't really mind the post you made, but I'm pretending, because I just wanted to flame VGChartz to begin with and you gave me an excuse.

This is hyped up Sony propoganda, no doubt perpetuated by some pro Sony blogger on Sony fansite N4G.

/end rant /end truth

Did Obama give free rides to the polls for voters or free rides to the polls only for people who will vote for him.

Different situation.

You didn't even have to vote, you just had to say you did....and yes, the buses were sent to areas that were full of people who were going to vote for obama.

Point is,  not only was the bribe here worth far less than a ride across town, the poll was completely meaningless, and even if it wasn't, it is still entirely and completely overblown here. If people didn't love GT, or hate Microsoft, nobody, and I mean nobody would care one iota about this except Forza fans who get a free what, unicorn? In the game?

I agree it is being overblown. Afterall it is obviously a "possible" free item aimed to Forza forum members who are probably Forza fans themselves. If they were GT fans I would expect them to frequent the GT forums.

With the bus however you didn't need to vote for Obama to be granted the free ride.

Why is everything a Sony related conspiracy? -.-

I don't even see this on N4G either, so it isn't truth.

Ps3 fans started the L4D boycott group too and they are also the majority of the group.

CONSPIRACY!!!

Can't you vote as many times as you want? When this story picks up, some fan from probably the Sony side, will get a bot and make it a million to 10. He will be applauded, not flamed, because people on this forum like GT, and it is a golden cow.

I originally thought you could vote infinitely but you can't. After trying again it says "We already counted your vote" above the poll results.

I saw te number go up by 1 for the first couple of times I did it, not realizing that quote. After doing and seeing the tally remain the same I then realized that it said that.

Also, about the bot. Why someone probably from the Sony side? Fans from MS side are too good for that or something?

You realize how stupid this sounds. You say that someone will cheat the system and will be praised for it?

How dumb. Threads over at Playstation boards were locked after just two or three posts.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

Wow. These forums have gone crazy this morning. Natal can't detect black people, Forza 3 is bribing people, Valve controversy. And all of it is either completely trivial, overblown, or baseless.

As if these Internet polls count for anything. I worked on the Ron Paul campaign. I am certain they don't. Also, why the heck would anyone care to get a free car in Forza, unless the game interests them?

Which is why it was posted in the Forza forums. The whole argument is overblown. Obviously it is the Forza fans who will use this opportunity to vote for the game who's forums they frequent.

Again, the magnitude of the action, doesn't change the intent and action itself. Me stealing a dollar from a cahsier is still stealing, even though it's insignificant when compared to me taking the entire cahsier. We're analyzing the CHARACTER and moral integrity of the company, not the action itself, but rather only using the action as a measurement for the company's integrity.

For Obama giving free rides, he's not saying "Vote for me, and I'll give you a ride" (in fact there's no incentive to take the offer unless you wanted to vote in the first place... it's a stretch to say somebody went through all the effort to get a free ride, to the election center nonetheless), if you want to vote I'll give you a ride so you can exercise your fundamental right as an American that you were unable to do.

If Obama said "Vote for me, and I'll give you a car" then I'll be outraged.

I never played GT, and the only time I did was at Best Buy, where I thought "Wow... driving is a bitch". As for one man not being the entire company, that's a debate on its own. I remember when I was playing Hockey that we had to do our punishments as a team, just as much as we got to celebrate as a team". It's a debate on what makes a group, how we should see ourselves, our actions, the actions of others, etc. To discuss so is going to be a huge derailment.

I don't know what you're talking about with Montana, so I'll stay out.

Too bad you didn't contribute to the topic of the thread yet...

I contributed by commenting. I gave my opinion that most of the complaining in this thread is overblow, due to alterior motives.

As for this being an ideological debate, sure, technically, it was bribery, but understand this:

1. The bribery here is the provable act of 1 man, not the entire company. Yet you, yourself, claim this is indicative of the actions of the entire company. Is Acorn, then, responsible for all voter fraud? This isn't the army. There is individual responsibility. Just listen to some of the reps of Sony. However, this is a forum admin. This is the equivelant of a FAN. Is everything a Sony fan says, indicative of Sony, the company? This guy was very probably an oursource hire. You can't prove Take 10 even KNEW about this. Don't you need proof?

2. According to your example, of stealing a dollar from a cashier, this is the equivelant of stealing a penny from the cashier. Yet, to hear it told here, it is the equivelant of shooting the cashier, burning down his store, and robbing his bank. The reaction does not fit the crime.

3. I've never played Forza. I don't plan to start. Yes, that is irrelivant, but I thought I would respond to your implication.

As for montana and myself, that is our conversation. However, I was simply pointing out how blaming Take 10 for this is like blaming ioi for something he did just because he is high in the site eschelon. It is completely unfair, as is this.

Overall, however, the reality of the situation if that 99.9 percent of the people flaming Take 10 over this, are Sony fans, who just enjoy doing it. However fallacious you find my argument, that truth stands.

Just because you don't like the opinions in my comments, doesn't mean it doesn't add to the thread. Should I come back when I agree with everyone?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I am pretty sure if the GT forums admin said "There is a poll involving Gran Turismo on "X" website. Please take a moment to vote for the game you love and receive an in-game item." the GT Fans who frequent those forums would do the same.

It takes 5 seconds and it benefits them. It is not like those Forza fans were going to vote for GT anyways.

Shit, if Sony offered me some LBP DLC to vote for LBP in a poll I am 100% certain I will vote. Why wouldn't you? It benefits me.

Yeah, somebody will be PRAISED for it. It happened on metacritic, remember? When 360 fans gathered to give R2 a low rating, Gears 2 was then destroyed by bots, voting 1/10, and Sony fans, as well as MS fans on the contrary games, cheered and laughed? Is it stupid if it actually happened 6 months ago, and happens everyday?

Now, I agree bot voting is stupid, but I hope you do realize that it is not stupid to understand that people actually enjoy it when it helps them.

Is that stupid outlaw? Am I stupid, really?
