This guy said it pretty well.

The biggest things you need to keep in mind is the size of Valve, and that they are a business. In addition, saying the ps3 is too complex and that sony has made an obscure architectural decision is hardly a slam against sony, it's just a fact. It doesn't mean sony sucks for making the decisions they made for the ps3, nor does it mean they are awesome for making the decisions they made.

There's no logic behind his argument.  Don't look for an intelligent discussion.  This is the same type of person that flames someone for saying they hope X game comes to the Wii.  He's a fanboy plain and simple, and he will complain and flame any decision or statement that doesn't benefit his console of choice. 

Valve owes Sony and Sony fanboys nothing.  It's Sony's fault for making a console that's difficult to program for.  They assumed dev's would suck it up because the userbase was going to own all others, but that never happened, and devs are going elsewhere.

Saying valve is a "crap developer" is NOT true; their middleware has been used in more titles than you can imagine, and they are the industry leaders as far as games are concerned, as far as post-launch support is concerned, and as far as a delivery method is concerned. There's something called Steam, you might've heard of it, that bests any other method of digital distribution (in terms of gaming of course).

I'm sorry you won't be able to play Left 4 Dead 2 on your playstation 3, but please, take your head out of your ass, it's like you didn't even read the article. At the heart, Valve along with any other company that makes and or publishes games is still a business; the return they would see on any playstation 3 software they create wouldn't be worth the money spent on making the product. It's less of a statement of "we can't do this" and more of a statement of "we won't do this".

Well, i agree with you in a lot of this post, i am a dev and nobody can say to me that i am a crappy dev because i refuse to build a specific web page that works in Internet Explorer 6, i did my research and my cost-benefit analysis and it's not worth the pain... Same with doing an app that works natively in Mac OS, and i've made software for Macs, but sometimes it's not worth it...

The bold part is the only one i don't agree with... The industry leaders in games is Nintendo, and they're a lot that come before Valve...

I honestly can't handle the Sony fanboys on this site anymore. Not the Sony fans like CGI-Quality who are awesome and have good conversation but these rediculous Sony loyalists.

Valve is an incredible developer who tirelessly work to improve their games and release new ones for their fans. They are the farthest ting from lazy.

I just don't understand why its so hard for these people to understand the Valve doesn't want to allocate manpower and resorces to develop for yet another system when they can use those same resorces to improve their other projects.

hmm let me see, should i buy a bmw to drive to walmart to buy milk or should i just get a honda? valve-we'll get the honda with vtec power! saves gas, saves money$ looks just as good, sells more worldwide, perfect analogy ey? haha
