Forums - Nintendo - Someone thinks Nintendo won E3

I'd honestly say that all three companies "won" E3 because they all had great press conferences. Microsoft was the most flashy with their special guests and also had some huge surprises with MGS 360 and Natal. Nintendo also had some huge surprises for us and gave everyone EXACTLY what they wanted with a new Metroid (by Team Ninja!) and 2 new Mario games... Galaxy 2 and NSMB Wii. And Sony had probably the strongest line-up of exclusive AAA 1st and 2nd party titles. All looked impressive at this year's show, and the second half of 2009 as well as probably all of 2010 are gonna be great for gamers.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Let's see... God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank Future 2, Gran Tourismo 5, Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian just to name some off the top of my head were all AAA exclusive titles from Sony, while Nintendo had the aformentioned Galaxy 2, NSMB Wii, and Metroid: Other M, plus the obligatory Wii Sports Resort.  And since both Galaxy 2 and the new Metroid aren't coming out until sometime in 2010, I'd have to give the edge to Sony over Nintendo for number of AAA exclusives this year.

Nintendo had a shorter conference plus, as mentioned above, the need to casual/core balance it. If SnP2, PO, Monolith's RPG and a drawing of Zelda was shown during the conference we might have had a different result.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Media sensation wise: Natal won the show for ms

Game wise: You can't really beat the announcement of a new super mario galaxy, a new zelda title, a new metroid title and a new super mario bros all in the span of 1 gaming expo. heads were likely to explode after hearing all that.

you mean triple A titles or games you would consider triple A titles? Ratchet & Clank isnt AAA, HR is an iffy. the rest, ill agree are most likely going to be high quality, high budget, high hyped titles.

^ Not to mention what the f---k Iwata is smoking after showing the vitality sensor

The idea of a vitatlity sensor might sound strange. However after MS and Sony showed their motion technology, Iwata only needed to show this and it is clear, that the WiiController can still do more than the competition. Who knows what other Expansions for the WiiMote are still hidden in the R&D-Labs of Nintendo ...

LoL no

I've watched all 3 press conferences as well as read all the news, and although Nintendo was excellent when compared to last year, they still fell way short of what Microsoft and Sony presented, no doubt right now people here are either speaking about natal and God of war, for either good or bad, and that in it's self says allot.

Lol, yes.  When speaking of Natal it's mostly overshadowed in the context of how it's overpriced and inferior in terms of usefulnes compared to the wiimote and motion+ with no real game support.

As far as I'm concerned, Nintendo won. What interested me the most in all conferences were the game announcements. Microsoft announced some cool games, but I'll probably play most of them on the PC as they're not really 360 exclusives. Nintendo announced at least two Wii games I will very likely buy (Metroid and SMG2).
