I agree with this so much.

As Americans we tend to get very arrogant, and Turn 10 seems to be taking that to the max.

I'd say they deserve to gloat. They created a superior game in the same amount of time it took Polyphony to create GT5 Prologue with more cars and more tracks. I say these guys mean business.

Need a timeline?

from GT4 to end of 2009, PD released(ing)

- Tourist Trophy
- GTHD
- GT5:P
- GT PSP
- Possible GT5

for Turn 10 since Forza to end of 2009,

- Forza 2
- Forza 3

To be fair though, GTHD and GT5: Prologue should probably count as half a game....combined.

I can agree with this.

I don't care about a timeline of halfassed GT games that should've amounted to GT5 in the first place. GT PSP has nothing to do with this. The game could've been launched already and you know it. That game better be a solid 10.

Well, this I agree but my point is PD was also working on different other projects besides GT5 unlike some people said without some research.

Forgot to add GT academy, they also hosted numerous events.

One more quick note...

I have done business with large-scale Japanese companies for many years. It is very common for a Japanese company to study their competition in gory detail -- they are not ashamed or concerned about how it may look. They will openly ask brazen questions (that often simply cannot be answered without giving away corporate secrets), observe, and take copious notes. They do this for one reason -- they are sizing up the competition and looking for anything that can give them an advantage. Rest assured that if the Devs came by, they are acknowledging Forza 3 as a genuine competitor and they want to learn more about the product before they release their own just in case they miss something really cool or obvious that would be easy to emulate or implement in GT5's final release.

It may be that PD didn't find anything that concerned them. It may be that they liked some of the features. It may be they just took notes about what they saw so they can discuss it at a later meeting. I guarantee, however, that there was or will be shortly a meeting within PD to discuss what they saw and strategies may or may not be developed or implemented.

Just how do you think the Japanese have beaten so many "inventors" at their own game? It is their methodology. They have taken many technologies invented in other countries, studied them, and then perfected them to the point of destroying the competition... See history. Cars. Cellular Phones. Laser-Read-Disks. The list is very long... In the end, the Japanese have studied the competition and one-upped them. I'm sure PD has the same intentions...

I agree with this so much.

No they do not. Polyphony has been working on a whole lot more than just one game at a time. This is unlike Turn 10 who only have to make one game at a time. They can dedicate resources to one project which lets them finish faster.

The tech demo was shown on the PS3 and I still have the video on my PS3.

According to your logic, FF7 remake for PS3 is coming.

Nope. I just told you that Square Enix denied it didn't I? If it was true that it was coming to the PS3, we would've seen something by now. There is no remake, just the same old game being sent to the PSN store.

I see you didn't get my point.

A CGI video shown doesn't mean the development is started.

That video was a cutscene that was low quality and never made it to the game, complete with in-game first person footage from 2005.

Yes.

I can see Turn 10's main goal is to main a game to take GT's crown while PD is trying to expand the racing game genre/GT brand to real life events.

Everyone loves to give these guys so many excuses. Turn 10 meets deadlines as it is. Their track record doesn't lie. They admitted that they could've launched the game already which means they are stalling for time to put more into the game.

It was clearly a CGI video...

You argue the 2009 trailer was CGI and then a 2005 trailer was in-game?

If you don't mind, I would really like to know your age.

What deadline?

Anyone told them that they have to get the game out every 2 years?

win win for us because they will make GT even more spectacular!
