So this weekend I was doing some retro gaming with my children. I pulled out the NES, got a half-dozen games and hooked it up to the Vizio. Of course 'Duck Hunt' and the Light Zapper didn't work, but 'Super Mario,' 'Double Dribble,' 'RC Pro AM' (I didn't know RARE made that!) and some 'TECMO Bowl.' It was pixelated as the devil, but my kids loved it.

As I was about to play 'Double Dribble' with my son, I noticed the team names. I hadn't played it since I have been a journalist (1996) and was ROTFL when I looked at the name of the Los Angeles team. Only one prob - it was spelled 'Los Angels!'

Haha! I was ROTFL for a few minutes - not as big as 'All your base are belong to us' but still a funny, funny error.

I had Double Dribble on my C64. It had two pages of codes printed on dark red paper designed to foil photocopiers. It would prompt you to enter one of the illegible codes every time you load it up to prevent piracy. Decent game, but annoying as hell, so I played more of my pirated copy of Dr. J vs Larry Bird.

Basically, when I think of Double Dribble, I think of my earliest experiences of getting screwed by DRM. :P

wow, you just named off a few of my favorite NES games. DD and RCProAm were freakin' awesome. I also didn't realize RCPA was Rare. Maybe that's why it hasn't come up on VC yet.

LOL. Squilliam, unfortunately, Ninny doesn't make HD cables for the NES, SNES or N64.

@ Ringo - didn't know DD came out on the C64. I played 'Fast Break.' I still love that game.

@ Chunk - yeah. Shocked me when I put it on. I was like 'RARE?!' It was actually one of the first *racing* games that had weapons. I think 'Spy Hunter' and the Atari game with a VW hatchback that had a rocket launcher on the roof.

It was good time. My kids (5 and 2) had a huge blast.
