What the hell is up with Halo3's matchmaking lately?

Spawns; lately they have been trash. Either you get spawned in front of the enitire aposing team, or the entire apposing team, spawns behind you. Way to go Bungie, fix you stupid respawn points.

Glitchy; Just tonight I played a game where I snuck up behind a dude that was camping out with a BR. I capped him in the back of the head, but instead of dying, he got up, turned around, jumped back, and started shooting me. As soon as i saw he wasn't dead  istarted throwing lead into him, but somehow, he killed me. Explain that one! Also, I had a guy run over my grenade just as it went off, all the while I pumpin lead into the guy, he doesn't start shooting me until after he hits the grenade, and somehow, he kills me. 

Lag switches; who here knows about the routers you can get that will, with the push of a button, boost your ping and make the other players lag like hell? I suspect more people are implimenting these, I have been getting a considerable amount of laging games lately. 

Restarter accounts; WTF. How sick and twisted to you have to be? I mean, are you really that sad that you have to prey on those who are not as good as you? Is that really the only way you can get your jollies? All you do is piss people off, and drive them away from the game. You have no respect, and deserve no honor. 

Rapid fire modded controllers; Really? Are you really so trash that the only way you can win is with a modded controller? That is cheating and you should be banned for it. There is NO honor in making a kill with the mod as it gives you an unfair advantage. If you can't win without using the modded controller, you should not be playing. 

If you have a lagswitch, restarter account, or use a modded controller, well, you need to DIE A SLOW AND EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL DEATH! is that clear? You are nothing but trash and a noob! I hope I have pissed some people off here.

Most of the time, people do this with a computer program that is hooked up to the network.  But network manipulation is easily recognizable to Bungie and will result in the banhammer being dropped.

Impossible in Halo 3.  The weapons can only fire as fast as Bungie programmed for, rapid fire controllers will make no difference.

I haven't encountered too many problems with spawn killing, it happens occasionally, and yes it's damn annoying, but then it happens now and then in most shooters.

Glitchy, yes. I think this ties in with lag problems though. I've seen things happen on-screen that are completely unexplainable. Then when you play the video back in theater mode, it shows the incident without lag, which looks different to how you saw it unfold. So in reality while you think you're 10 steps away from a guy, it shows you as being only 5 steps away in the replay.

Although sometimes even watching the replay, it's hard to makes sense of how exactly something happened the way it did.

I don't play ranked games, so I don't encounter any restarter acccounts. I do enjoy playing skilled opponents though, it's no fun dominating new players.

That's the first I've heard of rapid fire controllers. I must look out for that.

Overall, I wish Halo 3 ran on dedicated servers. Perhaps even splitting Europe and America. Lag problems can make some games totally unplayable, and give players with better connections/host the advantage. Blue-screen, host switiching and long waiting times for games are also other problems I'd rather not have.

It's not good to take Halo seriously for health reasons because of all the douchebags/cheaters/laggers/whatever.

Get into 1v1 fighting games like Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6 or HD Remix where SKILL/learning the ropes has always been a big part of winning. As much as I love FPS fighting games is where it's it at for competition unless you can get that rare squad versus squad match in a FPS. 1v1 is really boring in Halo or any FPS that I've seen so far.



It's just that simple.

The spawns are some of the maps are quite ridiculous. Foundry to me is the biggest culprit. High Ground is like that also. I can honestly agree with you on the spawn thing.

The only time I have seen a lag switch was when the guy was on my team. It actually fucks up everyone and not just the other team. It was really annoying.

Oh and the starter accounts, yea I really do hate that.  It really does annoy me, and there have been a couple of times when the guy after the game will be like you got beat by a lvl 9, when we knew he wasn't.  The rest of his team were 50s.

maybe you just suck.

some of that stuff is out of bungies hands. how can they control people creating new accounts, or playing with a modded controller?

and the lag thing. think of how many people are playing at one time
