Wow, media hate? You Wii boys need to stop crying about how you are the victims of hate. The media praises your consoles innovations just as much as other consoles. Just because you don't get the amount of positive coverage you think you deserve, does not mean the media is biased. The Wii already maxed out it's media potential when it brought motion control to the table. Why would the Media want to rehash the same old thing with slight improvements, when they could get more vewership off of something entirely different and new? Wii doesn't have games for hardcore gamers, they have Mario, Zelda, and Wii fit. Not Killzone2, Halo3, GT5, or Forza 3. They aren't even a HiDef console.

With that having been said, what if MS had released Wiimote+ and Nintendo had shown NATAL this E3? Would the hyp be the same? contend it would. People would have looked at the MS version of Wiimote+ and said, oh how cute, they are trying to copy the Wii. But if they saw Nintendo's version of NATAL, they would have sung it's praises because it is more innovative than anything they had come up with to date. I too would have been very impressed with it, and very unimpressed with MS Wiimote+ (after all, if I wanted to use a Wii mote, I would go out and buy a Wii)

media show same attention to Wii, are you serious!? gamespot is an example, it's like Wii does not even exist for them (or gaming magazines and this stuff)

it's a matter of opinion what you like, but Natal is so limited, most activities you don't even neeed Natal to do them at all, the only thing you could need Natal for is swordplay and karate or an on-rails shooter let's say but that can happen on WM+ as well, where you cannot use kicks let's say but you can more character and you do more things than just use a sword for example, i can't see how Natal is even close to WM+

but hey, Natal is from MS which has Xbox360 which has great graphics and mature games where WM+ is coming from the kiddy console that has shit graphics and company that is parasite to core gaming and makes un-interesting games even if they are rated 9.7 and sell 10 millions, so it's convinient to hate them, correct? : P

For the most part I agree with that statement! But, then again, to each their own. However, one thing I disagree with is your silly "Natal is so limited" argument. That is simply not true. NATAL is so unlimited it's not even funny, you don't have to work within the confines of a silly waggle remote. You have 3D full body motion sensing, and voice regonition. Two things the Wii mote can't do.

NATAL is very limited. 3D full body motion sensing and voice recognititon are great, but what are you going to do with it? its not my idea of fun to jog in place to run and say "bang, bang" to shoot while playing an fps or a tps. what about platformers, how do you move or jump?. all NATAL is a more sophisticated eye toy. there, i said it.

You just contradicted yourself. With NATAL the possibilities are endless, with Wiimote, well, it can only track your hand, not your full body, so the possibilites are not so endless. I really don't care if you don't want to jump and move around, just don't buy NATAL. I believe that NATAL is going to immerse you more into the game than any other system. Also, let it be known, MS intends to make all games that work with NATAL work with the origional controller as well. I bet if this was a Wii thing, you would be singing it's praises right now.

can you point out where i contridicted myself?

the possibilities are pretty limited without the controller. like i said, how will you run around in say, a platformer or an fps. all i can see it being is an eye toy with better graphics.

and if it were on the wii you would be calling it crap right now.

If Natal is limitless I would like you to explain to me one thing.

How would you play Gears of War with Natal? I will be waiting for your response.

If NATAL were on the Wii, I would be just as impressed. Much like I was when the Wii mote came out, I thought it was quite innovative at the time.

I highlighted the portion where you contradicted yourself, I really don't think anybody (short of an idiot) can say that 3D,  fullbody motion sensing , and voice recognition are as limiting, as having a controller in your hand that has no voice recognition, and only tracks your hand. Also, do a little reasearch on what an eyetoy is and how it works. The eyetoy is a joke compaired to NATAL.

Now, I know I will probably have to spoon feed this to you guys a couple of times (much like I  had to do in two other threads) but I'm patient, and you will learn eventually.

I'm not sure what a platform game is, but I do know what a FPS is, so I can tell you how NATAL would work. First off, lets adress buttons, who needs em? Nobody who has NATAL, if you had to hit a button to jump, well now you actually jump. You want to reload your gun, act like you are reloading it. You want to switch weapons? Say so! You want to strafte right or left, just do it. you wanna crouchwalk, do it. you wanna fire? Either pretend to pull a trigger, or say fire (this one obviously is something that has no dead set solution right now) you wanna take cover behind that concrete barrier, crouch and say "cover" The possibilities are endless.

Now, here is another little nugget, MS is planning to make Halo and COD playable with Natal. Putting a wand or any kind of controller with NATAL would defeat the ad campaign (you are the controller). MS is going to make sure all games for NATAL also can be played with the origional 360 controller.

@Ironman
But are you going to walk in place? and then if you do how are you going to differentiate between walking backwards and forwards, and how will you turn around. You can't just say that you'll simply walk around because every level I've ever played is a larger scale than my room.\

Natal seems great, I'm just not sure how they would have everything done.

Simple, Verbal commands. Or one could actuualy walk backwards or forwards with NATAL scaling your motion. Also, you wanna turn around, just twist your body a little and say "turn". Who knows how MS really plans to exicute all these motions, but by production, it will all be worked out.

I'm sure they have ideas of how to make these things work, I'm just not sure if they'll be able to get the same experience for some things that a controller can get you. There are probably lots of options on how to get Natal to do these things, just depends what they end up using and how well it works.

I am not saying it will be for everybody (is the Wii for everybody? absolutely not). But I do have faith that it will work well when it comes out.

I guess I just don't have the same faith that it'll be able to do everything, but we'll just have to wait and see. Regardless the technology is definitely cool, and it'll be interesting to see how they try to do all these things.

Of course, the practical ramifications have to be considered, as well: Nintendo would not have presented anything as half-finished as Natal on the show floor; they would've given it a Vitality Sensor-esque showing with no demonstration if they were going to reveal it at a stage when it's so clearly not show-worthy (by their standards, at least). And then too, I can't see Nintendo developing a product like Natal. It shoots well past "good enough" and enters into the Uncanny Valley of motion controls, where you're not quite at 1:1 virtual reality controls, but past 1:1 object-centric controls.

But yes, there would be the usual anti-Nintendo sentiment. Mostly because MS pays good money to make sure that Nintendo doesn't get a good rap, and because the gamers they've won over from the Nintendo camp are about as friendly towards Nintendo as ex-Catholics are to Catholicism.

Now that is 100% Malstrom material. Nintendo will never get anything good out of the current gaming press.Maybe it will come from a "new press".

Given all the info we have an NATAL, I think it's safe to assume that MS will have a solution to all those issues.
