Forums - Microsoft - Turn 10 on Forza 3: "No Game Cometes With Us"

Forza, as always looks like a cartoon. As do most 360 games. They are way too glossy and over the top. I have always like the PlayStation style of look. I.E. less plastic and gloss. A more grittier realistic look. GT5P is a very good looking game, and what was shown of GT5 is leaps and bounds better than what was shown of Forza. There will obviously be a boat load of cars to choose from and there will be damage as well. GT5 for the easy win IMO.

If Forza3 looks like a cartoon to you, well, you need to get your eyes checked.  I noticed in the GT cars looked like they hadd a matt finish on some parts of the car, while other parts had a gloss finish. Forza 3 has well polished cars, you ever been to a professional car show? they wax the heck out of their cars, and yes they do look like that.

I love how great Forza 3 turned out to be. Maybe the best thing about this years E3 (excluding Natal).

Forza 3 - if it delivers - pretty much cancels out the 'threat' from GT5 as a mega system seller.

We got this genre covered now on the X360. No one can say that they have to choose PS3 because of GT anymore. And the best thing is that it has a 2009 release date.

Your post seems very confused.

First you celebrate how great Forza turned out to be, then you provide a caveat about how Forza 3 might deliver.

Then you suggest that Forza 3 being excellent will somehow negate the effect of GT5. This is nonsense. It doesn't matter how good Forza will be; GT5 will still shift hardware.

Oh, and lastly, people can still say that they chose the PS3 because of GT5. Again, a nonsense statement from you that no one can now say that GT5 made them purchase a PS3.

Wa that is really big

I agree. Truth is, the technical difference in these games is nearly indistinguishable to the untrained eye. Artstyle is what sets them apart to the commoner. That is why people should pick these games up based on what consoles they own, and gameplay/reviews/artstyle, and not try to worry about which one looks better. They both look good enough to where anyone can argue either side, and be right. They are both technically amazing, and no amount of technical jargon can convince fans of either one that their game looks inferior.

Forza 3 looks amazing, and better than anyone expected. Enough said.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I was meaning the fact GT doesnt use the same graphical techniques as Forza which is why while GT5 has 200,000 polygons and Forza has a million polygons per car. GT uses a different form of modeling that uses less polygons.

Yeah, agreed. I think the whole "polygon" thing was a talking point to begin with. The end result of something is what matters, not how it was built.

It's funny how Sony fans flock to this thread trying to talk up GT. I can sense the fear.

One can only conclude that Forza 3 sure made an impression at E3.

And it was great that they chose to show real in-game footage instead of pre-rendered CGI. Very confident of Microsoft and Turn10. Respect!

IGN said the GT5 trailer was all real time.

Link? Journalists have been wrong before, being tricked by marketing people and their fuzzy statements. Because at least the part with that light blue rally car in the GT5 trailer was not real time.

"Gran Turismo 5
With close to 50 million units shipped, the Gran Turismo franchise is a big deal, even outside of gaming. The fifth full title has been in production for a long, long time now, so the fact that we finally got to see the game in action was a great thing. The fact that the amazing footage was all realtime made it even more talked about."

You can't trust IGN, they probably just made it up
