I can't seem to find it through the mess of all the E3 posts, but I promise you I saw it. And I can't search for it since they removed the search feature in 2.0

Um... "forum search" was just a google search with site:vgchartz.com appended to it.
so its really up to the game dev to develop a better graphics for both HD consoles.

Bah, still not finding it even using that. I tried searching for the context because I specifically remember the same words used, but nothing. And the title of the other was different. Oh well, I guess it's been lost for now. If I find it I'll post it.
@nightsurge
No problem man, thanks for trying

"Looks good enough" and "Easy to code to" are two things the industry will code to, in order to get product out the door. Considering the sheer complexity of creating games today, companies need shortcuts, or they end up with products that are like Duke Nukem Forever.
The Wii embodies "Looks good enough" and "Easy to code to" also. I would also say, unless you are in the business, faced with making tough choices, it is hard to whine about this. It is SERIOUSLY hard to whine about it. There is also increasingly diminishing returns in this area. Why would you spend MONTHS to get a marginally better look for something?
By the way, what "hurting the industry"? Apparently sales numbers indicate people aren't that concerned about graphics. Look at the Wii, for example, for this. People also need to stop being such graphic whores. SERIOUSLY here, stop. What matters is a game plays well, and looks "good enough:.

I see thanks

He is not talking about sales, he means console cycles may end without utilizing its potential and that's bad

So far this gen for sony at least, has started out like its other two consoles have. Very little games, and the ones they did have did not look insane graphically. However within two years of each consoles cycle (at least in my experience) we saw some pretty awesome games that looked really good. Its no different for me than it was then.
well there was a short time ago when i held graphics in high esteem. to me, they were part of what would make or break gaming. i think that as time as gone on though, it is less important than is used to be. the jump from 2d to 3d was by far the largest change that videogaming had ever seen. it was a reason to buy a new console. i remember i was absolutely dying to play mario 64 because it looked so realistic at the time but i think that part of gaming is not quite as meaningful as it once was. it isn't a major selling point anymore at least not for me. the ps3 is more powerful graphically than the 360, i don't deny that, but whether or not that maked it better, well that is up for debate. power is mattering less and less every generation as the ds and wii have proved. graphics power used to be innovation but not anymore. i don't know what exactly appeals to a mass audience but i will bet that graphical power isn't one of the major factors
