Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How will Wii counter Natal, 360+, MS Moneyhatting Ways and Press Bias?

How do you think Wii will counter Microsoft's Project Natal, 360+ (affordable and more powerful 360 models launching in 2010), Microsoft's willingness to buy any third-party exclusive that they think has a chance 0f being big (I'm sure The Agent and FFXIV weren't announced for more than two minutes as Sony exclusives before Microsoft started figuring out how much money to pay out to get them on 360), and a totally biased press that is intent to insist that Natal is the best thing since buttered bread, and that despite a much weaker software showing at E3 than the other consoles and even in comparison to past 360 E3 lineups.  This was probably the 360's weakest E3 for software since 2005 especially when you compare their lineup to what is to be found on the other systems), yet the Western press is seemingly unanimous in their appraisal that Microsoft won E3?

I don't really think they have to do anything.

although the fanboys are exploding all over the new motion technology, they made fun of the wii's in the first place.

either they will be the biggest hypocrites in the world, or they're going to realize that they still don't like it, especially since its clearly worse than the wii's.

They don't have to - they have a 30 million user lead - probably 40 million by the time Natal comes out.

...they'll do their own thing, as always. MS has no chances against a household casual gaming name such as the Wii.

Why does everyone worry about the Wii so much? it'll keep doing better than the 360 when Natal releases. MS should've done something of the sort earlier.

Nothing. Its the market leader already.Nothings gona change.

And the Wii black Color sales will crush 360+ sales.

They'll counter by launching the Wii in 2006.

They have less than a 20 million user lead.

We cant really predict the future

Until it actually comes out and has some successful software behind it, Nintendo will continue on their merry way selling millions of consoles and getting Wii Motion+ into the hands of millions. That will continue well after Natal is released as well. I don't think they need to do anything to "counter" though.

Consoles Owned: Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, N64, Gamecube, Wii, XBOX360

But doesn't it look like Microsoft has shifted their focus away from Sony as they figure all they have to do to keep Sony down is buy rights to whatever game could give the PS3 a boost and are now trying to go after the casual market in a big way with 1 Versus 100 (which could become a killer app if it becomes as popular as Millionaire or Deal or No Deal), Natal, etc? And the Western press is praising this Natal to high heaven.

Oops.. sorry, the other numbers is what came to mind first thing - lower both my rounded estimated by 10 million each...

20 mil Lead now - probably 30 by the time it releases.
