Edit: Lost Planet *2* (heheh missed that xD)
Same release date as the 360 version too! Honestly I completely missed this amongst the plethora of game announcement coming out of E3, this is both interesting with regards to sale and a test of capcom's capability to port a game that clearly has lead console as the 360.
The PS3 port of the original was a poor man's subsitute that fail to make any sort of impact both commercially and critically. Frank Filice from Capcom addressed some issue over at the playstation blog with regards to the quality of Lost Planet 2 on the PS3, insisting that the game will not suffer in quality like the original.
This will be the first legacy game for capcom that has it's origin on the 360, in contrast to games such as Resident Evil and DMC which were PS2 legacy, this time around the fanbase exist on the 360 and the PS3 is the untried arena, how much a gape will the sale difference be between the 2 iteration?
Despite Capcom's promise I personally still think the 360 will be the more optimised version, this has rang true with most of capcom's recent release, but luckily has not been severe enough to be noticeable to a half blind fella such as myself.
Depending on the disparity I might get the PS3 version when it comes out, 4 player local co-op sounds fun, but I'd have to get two more controller to do that on my 360, I also don't game online enough to warrant XBL-gold which means I'll only be able to (sparingly) play this online on the PS3/PC version.
Not really a suprise though I was taken aback by the same date release announcement, guess those Capcom sales prediction makes a little bit more sense now...
