Says the guy that said GT PSP looked almost as good as Forza 3.

Your opinion cannot be trusted when it comes to graphics anymore after that stunt...

^ gt runs at 1280x1080 in game which is not 1080p

Wasn't someone trying to compare this to the psp game?

1080p definition from wiki.

1080p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes. The number "1080" represents 1,080 lines of vertical resolution (1080 horizontal scan lines),[1] while the letter p stands for progressive scan (meaning the image is not interlaced). 1080p can be referred to as full HD or full high definition to differentiate it from other HDTV video modes.[2] The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a horizontal resolution of 1920 pixels. This creates a frame resolution of 1920×1080, or 2,073,600 pixels in total. The frame rate in hertz can be either implied by the context or specified after the letter p (or i), such as 1080p30, meaning 30 Hz.[3

Are you doing this on purpose?

What do you mean?

If 1080p means exact 1920x1080, then is it 1080p for the future 21:9 TV that displays 2560 x 1080?

Like the wiki said, 1080p is a shorthand name for 1080 vertical lines.
People assume 1080p is 1920x1080 because of the common 16:9 ratio.

The game is in 16:9 format like i just said it scales from 1280 to 1920

Well I know it runs at native 1280x1080 which is still 1080p by definition.

Ignore anything to win an argument right?

That's a common misconception.

You should go and read the ITU paper on which the HD standards were defined back then. They christened the HD standards according to the number of vertical lines for historical reasons but no one versed on the issue would make the mistake of assuming it's just 1080 lines when talking about modern displays and digitally generated imagery because by their own very nature they not only are defined by the horizontal lines but also by the vertical ones.

Still, the ITU standards (of which 1080p is a subset) are not defined by the generation but rather the output. According to the ITU, anything scaled to 1080p can and should be called 1080p.

By the way, I am sorry you paid 500$ in 2007 for the privilege to wait until 2010 (at least) for GT5, but the ones to blame are Sony and PD. I understand that you need to believe GT5 is as sacred as the Second Coming in order to peel away at the buyers remorse originated from the cognitive dissonance between your expectations on PD's output and the sad reality; but still it's sort of funny in a shameful way to see you damage controlling like a crazy while going on a spam rampage all across the boards since F3 was shown on stage. You would be much happier and less of an annoying poster if you were loyal to yourself instead of loyal to corporations.

Nope he made a whole thread about that...and plenty of fanboys agreed with him.  It was sad really....

I think that Forza 3 is probably the best looking videogame ever made...Maybe GT5 can surpass it when it comes out, but if Forza 3 comes out first...why wait? Anyway, why talk about GT5 in a Forza 3 thread. Because, once again, I claim that GT5 has been the golden cow for PS3 owners for so long, that when MS puts out a game, just as good, or better looking, right before GT is release, it makes Sony fans....nervous, and they attempt to marginalize the MS game, and promote the Sony one. GT4 was mediocre anyway. Was it even AAA? What was the last AAA Gran Turismo game? 3?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

GT3 - 95 metacritic

GT4 - 89 metacritic

So basically GT4 was AAA unless your being statistacly fussy
