PC's aren't friggen consoles.

My favourite FF! I would love to see one, but hey...

It's not exclusive as it's coming out for the PC as well. Sony got that part wrong at the Sony's conference. They said it was only on the PS3. lol. NOT!! Because it's coming for the PC, it's only a matter of time before it's on the XBox 360, just like FF XI. I honestly could care less about FF XIV, as I have no plans to start another MMORPG game. All I want is FF XIII and FF XIII Versus. It's not that important for the PS3. especially if it launches the same time as the PC version. Most gamers will get the PC version. Whether it's FREE or not is another question. FF XI isn't FREE, so I'm assuming FF XIV will have a FEE as well. Was there a Sony announcement stating it would be FREE for play?

Why would being subscription based make it any less of a megaton , if the game is of a good enough standard then most people will be able to justify spending a monthly premium on it (like they do with WoW)

Subscription based payments is only problematic when the game isn't so good/addicitive. I think the biggest factor in FF14's succes is the quality of the game , it won't do well regardless of payment system if the game isn't good.

Ha ha...  I thought 8 and 9 were pretty bad, truth be told.  2, 4, and 7 have been my favorite for ages.  I finally played I think it was 6 on the rerelease (the one with Kefka) and that was pretty good, too, but didn't quite stand the test of time.  I'm thinking 7 would fair the same without an overhaul, but upgraded graphics and voice acting could probably hurt that, too.  Nostalgia holds a big part in the value of these games.

That's not fair , because when we flamed 360 owners for claiming so many of their titles to be "true exclusives" they argued the same thing. FF14 is console exclusive but not exclusive in the truest sense of the word. Many people including 360 owners will still have the opportunity to play FF14 (provided they have a PC powerful enough to do so of course).

Well since it hasnt been confirmed for Xbox 360 why would I care about Live fees, plus you only need Silver to play Final Fantasy XI anyway.  But of course I am talking about pay to play MMOs like FFXI and WoW, but thanks for showing your true colors. 

And I'm the one who started it! ^_^ Can't wait to be battlin' with everyone! Free to play = awesome time. But I swear, if they impose 1 subscription fee on me, I'm outta there.
