See, the problem here is that you use rehash as a word for sequel. Sequels and rehashes aren't the same thing. That's the biggest problem with anti-nintendo folk today. |
most have the same gameplay

Hey Listen!
I feel like it is like watching that 007 movie where James Bond is tied up to this trap and is slowly heading towards his death with Dr. No watching it as it unfolds, where Nintendo is Bond and Dr. No is a rabid fanboy who hates Nintendo...
Nintendo screams as he is heading towards his doom, "What do you want from me?!?!" and all the rabid fanboy will say is "I want you to simply...die, Mr. Nintndo..."
In all seriousness, though, there are several factors as to why Nintendo was, is, and may always be hated upon by a certain group of people...especially over the Internet, where hatred spreads faster than logic...it is the same in the real world but everything is raised exponentially in the Internet so it feels as if you are surrounded by hate...
But, it comes with the territory of being the best of the best...sure you will find a flaw or two at Nintendo if you look hard enough (or for some, they are in plain sight) but for every hater, there are several more who love Nintendo for who they are and for what games they make.

Mario kart, mario kart 64 and mario kart wii arent rehashes??
punch out and punch out wii?

To me I loved their E3 the best i think.
The one thing nintendo needs to give me is more online. in all types of games across the board.
I got EA Active recently, so did my sister, it'd be cool if we could work out simultaneosly and talk while we do it.
But yeh just more online nintendo, thats what i want. i am happy now, but online would make me very happy.

| radha said: because most if not all nintendo franchises are from the 80's dude, FROM THE 80's they have like 15 different mario games, mario kart, mario party, mario RPG, luigi's mansion, super mario bros, mario paint, doctor mario, paper mario, mario's missing, mario land, mario world ,mario golf , mario tennis , mario & luigi, mario strikers, mario baseball, mario hoops, mario sunshine and mario galaxy, oh and mario appeared in Donky kong in 1981. Some of this have games sequels, that could make the list do to 25+ and there is also games with mario that dont have mario in the tittle like SSMB and yoshis island. |
*spoiler* Master Chief didn't die >_>
And uh most people considder the Mario platformers the main series like I stated in the OP... rehash means same game over and over, while a totally different genre is.... well different. It's like saying Sega Super Star Tennis is a Sonic game or Soul Calibur PSP is a GoW game...
Companies put out more games of the same series to please fans... people bitch about how long they have to wait for the next installment, and most companies that do this put a new one out every year but see Nintendo put out the last main line Mario game when? 2007? and NSMB Wii will be this year so what 2 years? and if you want to say the last main 3D Mario it'll end up being 2 and a half years. And it's going to be about 3 years for Metroid and 4 years for Zelda... if that's milking I want to see your definition...
I'm guessing you're another one of those that is never pleased no matter what Nintendo does. You just complained about milking yet during Sony's E3 they announced FFXIV before FFXIII has even released... Or MGS:R one year after MGS4... huzzah at hypocrisy

I'm growing out of the Nintendo. There are a couple of games that I'll buy for it when I buy the Wii for my mother, but that's about it. The new Metroid, Conduit and Resident evil game sold for me, but I don't want a Wii of my own.
reread the question, i answered as far as pleasing ME
but for the gaming press?
they should do what theyre doing right now, ignore them. gaming press get free games, and also get more irrelevant all the time. you can see examples everywhere of things that arent critically acclaimed, but sell incredibly well.
nintendo took over because they stopped making games so the guys at game informer would go ape shit.
To me it's simple. I just don't want to use motion control for my games except when it absolutely makes sense, and only when its more accurate then hitting the correct button. Which means motion control should not have been used in 99% of Twilight Princess (aiming bow does make sense and is accurate, but swinging the sword, not so much).
If the controller had been designed to include more of the traditional style I would have no possible gripes. But as it stands I just don't enjoy Wii gameplay except for VC.
