Launch a new console with a normal gamecube controler and HD graphics and try and be cheaper version of the HD consoles, but with Nintendo games that resemble SNES-GC era style.

That's all I really wanted the Wii to be in the first place. I wanted the next Gamecube, but Nintendo released a piece of garbage instead. Now with the loss of the real Nintendo, this generation just sucks. You know something is wrong when sony's putting out the best console instead of the cheap trash they normaly put out.

now youre bagging on me because i dont necessarily enjoy god of war or halo 3? THAT's an argument worthy of a preteen.

I don't think it would take a whole lot, honestly. Hardcore players are actually pretty easy to please.

1.) If they had even *one* edgy franchise like God of War or what GoldenEye was to the N64 to go with Zelda and Metroid and Mario. 

2.) A solid online network.

3.) Better third party support from day 1.

Would improve the Wii's standing with hardcore gamers a lot I think. Even recently it has gotten better, the announcements of SMG2 and Metroid Other M were well received so was Punch-Out!!

Of course some people will never be happy, but I think if Nintendo had those three things down pat, they'd get *a lot* less grief. 

Halo is on game 6, GTA is on game 9 and God of War is on game 4. And don't even ask what number Final Fantasy is on. I don't want to find out. Resident Evil, with 5 main games and 2 railshooters, code veronica and 0, as well as remakes should be well over 10. Star Wars games, Guitar Hero with around 8 games, Metal Gear with around 8-10 games. Gran Turismo, on game 6 + prologues. And Sports games... How many Fifa, NHL and Madden games have we seen? Tony Hawk is on 9 now, if I'm not mistaken. Colin McRae is over 5 by now. Need For Speed, at least 3 main games, 2 underground, hot pursuit and so on.

I could list gameseries like this for a lot longer, but I think that this (very short) list proves that Nintendo is not sinning any more than anyone else.

FYI God of War is actually on game 5 :P GoW 1-3, chains, and the cell phone game that ties 1 and 2 together.
