Forums - Sony - E3: Yamauchi: We could release GT5 now

kungfusqurrel said:

haha no what i meant was a 92'' as in year 1992 4 door civic that was basicaly a base model. it wasnt an SI or anything just your regular for door single cam 4 door civic. cuz you see hopfuly gt5 wont be throwing in every model made, just the performace ones. and forza 2 and now 3 still have less cars because most of the cars are performance.

Lol. But if I own a 92 4D Civic in real life I would be so interested in driving it in game.

GT doesn't have any Passats and I could only drive the Golfs/GTI as replacement.

I like their variety of cars. Not just the performance ones. I could experience from the slow ass Honda Fit to the beast Ford GT.

All this means is that their code succesfully compiles.

I felt from my sofa reading this. Do you think developers spent like a few years to get their code base compilable? LMAO

I only informed you on the minimum amount they could have achieved in order to make that statement without lying.

BS

Ok, you clearly missed my point and I am too lazy to explain it to you. Re read my post and hopefully it will make sense to you. If it does not, just assume that I'm trolling because I hate this game for some reason. I don't really care.

this post euphoria failed from the start on so many levels you know?

GT Mobile(and every other GT game) - 800cars from which there will be maybe 150 original cars rest of them are copies of those cars with different stats, but pretty much te same body(different colours, stamps and so on though) something like cars in Ridge Racer. in GT4 you had more than 60 skylines.

Forza 3 - 400 different cars that you can tune both visual, engine and suspension, instal different car and engine parts, tweak pretty much every part of them and so on.

Forza and GT were always typical track racing games and while Forza kept that and Turn10 is trying to keep moving forward and be better at it PD didn't do anything. GT1-4 were pretty much the same game with better graphics and now(i'm guessing) since they have competition
that just outperformed everything they've done to date they are going to add things that don't fit there only to write on the box that they have definitive racer cause they have offroad and nascar racing. if i want offroad racer i will buy Dirt 2 and if i want Nascar game i will buy one of the Nascar racing games cause they will certainly be deeper and better than GT in that department.

GT series was most "respected" because for a very long time it was the only racing sim on consoles and that respect is only a PR bullshit cause right now i can put here a link to official forza site when audi just done the same thing bout Forza 3.

if you think PD are perfectionists you should look what Turn 10 and Audi engineers done in Forza 3 on it's official site - they are pretty much years ahead with the features they implemented in this game(like tire deformation that have influence on handling and driving in Forza 3).

i'm not saying GT5 will be bad - it's just the fact that PD are trying to put in their game everything they see with half-assed attempt.

Yes, a post that contains facts = fail?

Of course, in GT you can not change engine parts, suspension, etc...

My god, have you even played a GT game? You can customize your paint, suspension, engine, turbo, tires, handeling, weight, ride height, gear ratio, brake balance, etc... Pretty much every single thing you just mentioned, only with 800 cars instead of 400. All of this was available even in GT4.

No it is also not 800 cars with 150 being original and the other 650 being copies of the same exact car over and over again. It is called same model with different years. Don't even try to act like this isn't done in a game like Forza as well. It only seems like less because it has much less cars available. You think everyone only wants to use the 2009 model of a car? I know I don't. I know there are others who also prefer different years of various cars around the world.

There are also 22 Skylines in GT4, far from the exaggerated "more than 60" you just mentioned. Fail much?

Don't call my post a failure when yours fails to even prove mine failed.

Please research before spewing out nonsense. You will get trampled all day long son.

Here is your car list. Point me out only 150 different cars and then point me out how many are not copies in Forza 2 under the same criteria.

I swear, I would die of shock if I ever saw a positive word gets typed from your keyboard in a Sony related thread.

Your post failed from the start on so many levels you know?

Never quote me again.

maybe it was in GT3 i don't remember though i know that i played on ps2 Gran Turismo game were was like 55-60 skylines. there are different versions and years but when they are putting every nissan from every year eventhough some cars didn't change at all something is not right. besides will you actually unlock all those 800 cars? not really, so why not give me less cars cause there's definitely at least 100-150 shitty ones nobody will want to drive. even 300 but different and good cars will give me months if not years of fun and i won't have to drive 50 races with Mini Cooper to unlock GT40 - quality over quantity. yes there are many same cars in Forza, but i get only 3-4 of them and those are the best versions released over years that are sigificanlty different from each other(i don't want every skyline released between 1990-2000 pick the best one of them or the most famous cause i wouldn't tell the difference between any of those versions thanks to the fact that they're pretty much the same).

modification in Gran Turismo so far wasn't as huge as in Forza. i didn't play much in GT4, though in GT3 there wasn't much compared to what you can see on xbox. and visual modification is nowhere near Forza i doubt there is any console/pc game with so many visual tunning options.

I'm not saying it won't release in 2009. I'm saying that even if it weren't going to, Yamayuchi could still say this without lying, and would say this to generate hype.

Sorry

Also, dont flame me for using the words 'subpar graphics' in relation to GT. I clearly meant 'worse than the graphics would be given more time to tweak the game engine/level design/car models'

hmm interesting you know so much about GT5 scottie, how many cars and tracks will be in the game? *rolleyes*

Sarcasm aside  the game has been in production for a long time, if that game is lacking features then so is every racing sim released. Amar has made is clear that the game has been ready for some time now so Sony probably holding it back for a price cut during the end of the year.

Will I personally unlock all 800? That is completely irrelevant. They do not add various years of a certain model so every single person can unlock all of them, they include them because as I said, someone may want the 95 model, another may prefer the 2000 model, another may prefer the 98 model, etc... This goes for every car added into the game. If you do not prefer a 2001 Galant but I do maybe you won't care, but I sure as hell will. Multiply this by the 10M on average who purchase Gran Turismo.

The game has a massive amount of variety because of it. That is a good thing. Trying to pass it off as a negative is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard and doesn't prove anything because you are just going off of your own personal preference, which outside of you I doubt anyone cares about.

Modification wasn't as big in GT4 as it is in Forza 2? When it comes to fine tuning of your cars internal components I think you need to recheck, because in my first response to you I showed you what GT4 included and to think GT5 will not expand on that greatly is foolish once again.

Also about visual tuning. You obviously do not understand Gran Turismo. That is one of the last reasons why people prefer it over other racing sims on the market. I remember playing Tokyo Xtreme Racing and thinking how awesome it was to mod my car, but that didn't make it any better than GT.

For all we know GT5 might have that too. If so, then what will you say? You clearly stated my post failed, but you have yet to even prove why.

Man up on this one.

*Edit* Wait a moment, why are you comparing these racers to GT3 when GT4 was the last full installment? That only makes your argument look weaker.

You're running out of straws.

Off the top of my head, 800 cars, 35 tracks

And as for the lacking in features. Gosh, I must've been trolling the game. It's not as if I meant a game that isn't finished is lacking in features compared to the same game after 6-12 months more development time. As the cool kids say, *rolleyes*

i play racing games to drive cars i wouldn't get in real life so i don't care bout cars like Golf, Volvos, Minis and so on i want to get behind muscle cars, exotics, european sports and and japanese tuning vehicles i don't care if it's 99' Skyline r34 or 99' Skyline Rsomething else. i want many different cars to try them, i want them to handle as close to reality as possible and i want to tune them as i like.

Waron you can't get a muscle car in real life (Camero) You can't get a japanese tuning car in real life (3000gt)? I feel bad for you.

So in other words you're argument for why my post failed is : "Your post fails because my personal preference means more than your facts."?

Well, at least that is pretty much you admitting that I am indeed the correct one here.

Personal preference makes people blind. Not looking at the wider picture is actually a weakness when it comes to debating.

@JEDE3

95' GT3000 VR4 Turbo (manual transmission) is my dream car.

I almost bought it before I grabbed a 2001 Galant 4 years ago.
