Forums - Sony - First thing i thought of when I heard the price of the PSPgo

I don't know if anyone else thought this way, but the first thing i thought of wa"there's no way at the end of this year we'll see a PS3 only $50 more than the PSP.  I think this is a fairly large blow for anyone counting on a $100 price drop to reinvigorate sales of the PS3 and the help Sony hit their goal of 13 million sold by the end of the fiscal year.  I've had mine since launce so it doesn't effect me, but with the list of games shown at e3 i could see why anyone without a PS3 would want to pick one up.  At $399 it's still not near an impulse buy though.  What do you think?

hmm until now i dont thought about that...but youre right...wtf is Sony doing?

It makes no sense for Sony to release a $250 handheld during a global recession... it reminds me of their hubris when they thought people would get second jobs to afford a PS3. It should be no surprise at all they they are coming in last this generation.

The price of this is why they are keeping the 3000 on the market.

Otherwise, it would die... now.

Don't worry the Japanese market will buy it, they'll buy anything. Oh wait they're out of money there too. Who is going to buy this?

This thread is just stating that they think it is overpriced.  I'm not trying to start a thread saying that.  I'm trying to get a discussion going on whether the price point of the PSPgo makes itless probable that there will actually be a $100 price cut at some point this year for the PS3.  I just can't see it being that close in price to the PSPgo, even with the 3000 stll at $170.

Funny how everybody says they've got no money or losing money etc. yet every week its not stopping people from buying more video games and HDTVs.  Sure sales could be less but the way people talk its like sales will shoot down 90% or something lol.
