Forums - Nintendo - Article: "Nintendo Bombs At E3" (Business Insider)

Wow. They have lost their mind.

Around the Network

And the article calls the NSMB Wii a port! Just because the names are similar doesn't mean they are ports, heh.

Yet another misinformed journalist thinking that Nintendo must pander to them in order to succeed in the market.

Despite last years awful show, how much have the DS and Wii userbases grown by? How much more money have Nintendo made?

And now Nintendo give their detractors what they want-more big core games, and they complain. Wii Motion Plus dead before it launches? This is by far the worst E3 related article I have read.

Nintendo's show was not breathtaking, but it was no bomb. They've shown guaranteed mega-hits in Galaxy 2, Wii Fit Plus and NSMB Wii. Combine that with the informal announcement of Zelda for next year and Wii's future is looking fine.

Like I said, Nintendo don't pander to journalists or 'the industry'-they appeal to an incredibly broad market. That's where their success comes from. I find it tough to see Sony or Microsoft replicating such success effectively.

I've been seeing a lot of this negative backlash. It's hard to understand where this all came from.

Nintendo had a solid presentation and while there was room for improvement, it was a major step forward over last year.

I've seen like 20 articles from legit sources titled "NATAL: The Wii Killer" which boggles my mind. It was a vague promise for the future, not a 2009 release.

Here, we see attacks on Nintendo for... bringing new games to their main series? Whaaaa?

I'm a Nintendo fanboy

sure he is.

it's a shame that he didn't call the Wii a fad and didn't mention mini games, it could be a good Wii Bingo board.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

"This is two E3 conferences in a row where Nintendo has dramatically underwhelmed; it's now time to question whether Nintendo has run out of ideas for this generation. I'm a Nintendo fanboy -- I've owned every Nintendo system other than the Virtual Boy and Game Boy Color (I've owned an Advance, Advance SP, and a Game Boy micro). Every single major innovation in console gaming -- direction pads, analog sticks, rumble controllers, motion controls -- has come from Nintendo. (No, new disc media and online play don't count -- they're PC innovations that came over to consoles after the fact.) Nintendo is the company we turn to for major innovations in the video gaming space, but all they have give us are rehashes and remakes for years now."

I love when they put little sections in about how much they are a fanboy are dedicated to a company. It is simply attempt to do two things. Seem like an expert in that area and to make it seem that much worse because if he LOVED Nintendo and is disappointed - imagine the dissapointment for the average consumer.

The use of I'm a Nintendo fanboy is just a cover for bias.

Pixel Art can be fun.

The idea that he calls himself a Nintendo fanboy is good for a laugh.

As if a Nintendo fanboy wouldn't notice that the 2D Wii Mario is a totally different game from NSMB...

I kinda agree with the article. The others have caught up or surpass the wii. It's one thing going for it is no longer unique.

MS has finally found a solution to rule the world. A "cctv" in the household that can record\recognise your face and send the image to their databases. If the recent report of euro laws being pass to allow government officials to investigate the hard drive of any online PC ( this must be with MS's approval) are push through this year then be prepared for those images to end up in the governments database as well. Cool!

MS took nitendo's inovation (and PS2's eyetoy) and came up with a winning (e3) formula.
Kudos, if you are gonna copy something at least take it a step further.

Sony just copied Nintendo but announced some good games.

MS owned this E3 simply by creating a buzz. Brilliant.

The big loser will be/is Nintendo.

Pretty much, lol. It's like someone saying, "I have alot of black friends..." Then procede to say the most racist sheit, lol...

On a journalistic pov it's really takes away any creditiblity from the author using that statment. It goes to the thread I created earlier and how the gaming media is loosing it's creditibity...

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?
