Knocking casual, by hyping up "not casual" (or saying "core" or "hardcore"), is a way to take shots at people who actually have other things in their lives besides videogames. Sounds a bit defensive on the part of people who say it for a lack of balance in their lives.

This is very true, I play Wii Sports in a casual way, but I've seen videos of people able to get perfect scores on things like Wii Sports bowling that I would never in my life put that much time into.  However I will take FFVII or a Mario platformer and play it till I 100% completed it.

Ok, I agree that those words should be used.
In which case we NEED to have different terms to use.

This sums up the E3 09 experience perfectly. Everyone should be happy, and stop trying to bring down other consoles that they don't care for.

which is because PSP and Ps3 are the most expensive of their kind so if you have them you show you are rich and rich people are more socially acceptable if anyone notices

some people here say like "i've got Ps3 and i'm the only one who has one" and if you ask what is soooo special about it, the answer is either "it has GTA" or "it's very expensive so it's good as well" and if you tell them you have one as well, they really are disappointed

if you ask why is it better than Wii they say either "it has GTA" or "it's more expensive so it's better", and yeah, this is Europe basically, not just UK

btw, GTA makes you cooler also, show that you like violence and you know the word fuck and you kill people and drive cars instead of Mario who is childish....

You know, one would figure after 3 years of being the most successful company in this industry that reporters would reevaluate any negative comment they may have towards Nintendo, especially when it comes to articles that claim to speak the opinion of the masses. Because clearly if Nintendo is so successful perhaps articles like this aren't speaking for the masses.

In turn am shocked that no one, and I mean no article on the internet seem to be bashing , mocking, hating, ridiculing or anything the new PS360 peripherals.

Also after watching the videos of E3 I can see why no one applauded, they didn't get a chance to, the speakers used up all their time delivering information, it's either they were speaking or showing a game, the only time the audience got a chance to applaud was when they introduced a new person to the stage and they did!

Nintendo seemed to treat E3 like it was a classroom this year, but not for the gamers that class was for all the gaming media that would feed this E3 to the world. They were saying: "This is what we are doing, this is the ambitious results, and we know this works because we are #1."

That was the guy up on stage simply trying to do a 360 degree turn and then lift his foot up to the camera to look at the bottom of his foot on the 360 avatar.  Still kills me how that somehow turned into what is on the gif LOL

I still laugh at that muck up now lol, it shows natal isn't yet perfect but make no mistake, it will be and when it is the wii had better start hiding as this tech will take the world by storm, you know it, they know it, everyone knows it hence why sooo many big names are involved with it and developer kits are already being sent out for it, microsoft will do everything to make this a success,

Wii was the starting step in motion control, sony and microsoft will now easily pass it with much better controls as you've seen at E3, lucky Wii has that huge lead as it won't be keeping it at this rate,

You have to remember that the only thing Wii is good for is the motion controls, the actual system is very very basic and nothing more than a smaller gamecube, same poor graphics and sound, basic network features etc, without the advantage in motion control Nintendo have nothing and this is why Nintendo is getting ripped apart by the media since E3, they needed something to keep them ahead, they didn't deliver simple as that, a few new mario games and a pacemaker isn't going to keep them ahead lol......
