Forums - Sony - Sony shooting for a holiday 2009 release for GT5

As for Gran Turismo 5, we haven’t released an official date, but we’re trying to get that out this calendar year, so it could be a holiday game as well.

Uncharted 2 + Ratchet and Clank + MAG (:/) + GT5 = :D

Sony should definetly try to release it for the Holidays.

If its released for the holidays expect PS3 to skyrocket in Japan with also the release of FFXIII

If they can do that, sony will be right back to my second favorite video game company (even with the PSP-Go BS) followed by my favorite company nintendo.

I did wonder yesterday if the reason they didn't give a release date was because they were aiming for this calendar year but didn't want to make the announcement incase the game isn't ready and the 'delaystation' comments start to appear again.

Couple this with the cheaper PS3 slim (Yes, I believe what the mole said, and an august/september release it is!) and the PS3 will have one hell of a holiday season.

The second biggest Sony franchise will have it's third game in March 2010 so yeah the last thing Sony would want would be the two biggest fighting each other for sales. GT5 is pretty much confirmed to be a monster in terms of quality especially with nascar (yuck) and WRC.

I don't actually think we will see another GT game this generation for consoles since this one has plenty. The Portable GT game has more cars and tracks than HD console games which is a pretty big kick in the teeth.

Sales wise I honestly expect PS3 sales to explode in EU and Japan with FFXIII, GT5 and that Slim PS3 on the way. NA is a lost cause though. I assume the GT5 release date will come at that new EU gaming event which has taken over Leipzig or TGS at latest. Time to push this game out the door now.

don't get your hopes up GT PSP already delayed GT5

PSP hardly took up the whole PD team. Hardly 20% of the workforce must have worked on the game at the very most.
