Without driver support, you're not going to get very far...
But interesting perspective.

What about RAM limitations? And I'm not sure if the GPU was opened up when you have linux running, so you probably can't. Someone must have tried it if this was actually the case.
You cant compare LBP PSP and PS3 LBP, because its totally diffrent game. However, Bioshock, Gears Of War and the others are completely the same versions.
And the game is NOT exclusive because I DONT NEED 360 TO PLAY IT.
| Hisiru said: Yes, because they are different things. As I said before: Console =/= Computer |
This point is moot. "Console" is a term that describes a possible use of the most general "computer". Every PC can act as a console.
A company right tomorrow can put together a gaming PC in a small case, with a wireless controller, HDMI output and a customized Windows OS with a simplified intarface to launch/install/remove games and access media files, and start marketing and selling it as a "console that plays PC games".
What would you say then, when I can play Gears of War on a console that is not a 360? Why is that not a console? It's a piece of hardware designed, assembled and bought so that you can connect it to your TV and play games on it. Its insides are immaterial.
Now think that even if no company is actually doing that marketing, every PC gamer with a modicum of manual abilities can do the same by themselves, and you'll see why the "they're different things" argument has frail shoulders.

Exactly. Infact, Onlive is going to do just that! They'll be releasing a console in Winter of this year that will allow you to play PC games without owning a PC yourself, and it will definitely affect Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo because it could be the beginning of PC-based consoles entering the living rooms.
By the way, if anyone wants to know how the Onlive console will look like, here it is:

You can even call it a micro-console.
sorry , but I will be busy playing 360 "exclusives" when they come out on PC without owning a 360, regardless of any criteria you make up.
same goes for FFXIV.
a console exclusive is console exclusive.

Im quite sure of it's possibillity. I have seen it on youtube.
PC fanboys need to understand wh don't care if a game is on PC it is not competing with console's.
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

^You technically can run PC games on WINE on Linux on PS3... but as max said, RAM is very limited.
Plus no GPU acceleration available under Linux means that Direct3D calls - translated into OpenGL by WINE - end up using the Mesa (software) rendering. I wouldn't try running any modern game on that, though I'm curious to try running the kind of Half Life...
Oh, well, project for the weekend.
