Forums - Gaming - Motion Control: Sony and MS have proven Nintendo right

SOny's motion control destroys the others. Looks so good. But I want it to be an option and not made mandatory in games.

I look forward to the future, when all those people saying they'd stop gaming when everyone adopted motion controls actually follow through.

Nomination for the biggest fan boy quote of the year

I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

You are fanboy beyond belief. That sony demo is exactly the same as the new wii mote 1:1. Except Wii will support and develop this technology better this gen...

It was their only way to try not to be in last place this gen. They had to rip off the Nintendo ideas.

I'm getting a PS3.

Oh, and I didn't see flaws like the ones seen in my hilarious avatar.

Yes they have.

Its seems so. Just want to mention that Sony seems to be ripping off nitnendo more so than Microsoft...

Yes, but Microsoft's isn't 1:1 and has a vague 2010 release date. And I've seen reports of a $200 price tag; is that right?

No, the 200 dollar price tag is an estimate of what it would cost a company to do this right now. We don't know what technology or advances Microsoft made. This is Wii Motion Plus with another name. There is 0 difference between this and the Wii Motion Plus.

OK then; I didn't see the conference firsthand. Well, that just confirms NIntendo was right all along. At last year's E3, they announced WM+ like they were fighting phantom enemies, mentioning "imitators". If Sony and MS had done this then then Nintendo would look better as they would have been responding to a genuine threat.

Nintendo's advantage is the ability to make games that use it due to a large first-party base. Sony and MS will have to persuade third parties for the most part, and get people to buy a whole new controller (not just an attachment). It's risky to challenge Nintendo now.

Top-2 most copied things on E3:
1) Motion-control
2) Mario Kart Wii

Ridiculous, well no, it's a good thing after all.
