It's when they see that bias in numerical form that makes people unhappy.

Latest Evidence? Halo 3 (which has been pretty incredible so far) gets a 9.5, and is credited with "brining the series in exciting new directions" among other things in gamespot's review. Metroid Prime 3, in it's 8.5 review, is several times criticized for being a repetitive, similar game in the same vein of the first two MP's. Now, call me crazy. Halo 3 is basically an adrenaline pumped Halo 2 with nice new features. Halo in itself is just one of millions of FPS's. Metroid Prime 3 features an entirely new control scheme, not only new to the series, but like nothing else before it. The gameplay has changed in just as many (if not more ways) than Halo 3. Further, it is only the THIRD game of its kind, technically----as opposed to the ocean of generic Halo-esque FPS. Don't get me wrong; I'm not even saying Metroid Prime 3 is better than Halo 3 (reserving judgment until I finish the campaign at least.) My point is that: could it be any clearer that Gamespot is biased towards Nintendo (or at least the Wii)? |
Halo is Halo it will always get amazing points also when it really deserves but that is my opinion.
Halo 3 has a short campaign. They should have dropped the score for that, its not fair they dropped heavenly sword's score just becuase it was short.

But come on leo-j, it's Halo. It's perfect in every way. Yup, no flaws here.
The campaign isn't short; it's... um... time-effective. Yeah... that's the ticket.
not that short... you should play it, 8 hours and I'm only 1/2 the game. You maybe playing the game on easy.
And by the way the game is a lot of fun... and I agree it is all about taste, I prefer Halo and some of you prefer MP3, why a guy in Gamespot doesn't have that right.
That is why there are maybe 100 places that review games, I saw a 8.8 review about halo and it is ok, on that same place they gave Wario 9.2 and for me its more like a 6 but their taste right?

My friend bought it, he is a hardcore 360 fanboy and said its 7 hours on normal.
I'm not trying to say Halo is bad, or even that gamespot is necessarily particularly biased against the Wii... they simply have no consistency in their reviews and for me that eliminates their credibility. If you take off points for something once then turn around and praise the exact same thing a month later you are not a credible source of review information.

Halo 3 has extensive online multiplayer to make up for it, Heavenly Sword does not. Gamespot were also rather generous with Heavenly Sword and Warhawk. They seem to favor and like online games more which is one of the reasons MP3 got slammed.
An 8 for Heavenly Sword was fair, I am playing it now and I would rate it the same.

Show me one way that MP3 is better then halo3, that is not your opinion and is fact.
