Indeed it will, hopefully the classic gameplay of the MGS series will somehow be molded and recreated with MGR, providing a new innovative experience.

By the way Onyxmeth, the picture of Raiden that has been released with the announcement of MGR I believe represents an older, more mature Raiden. I think it is pretty safe to assume MGR is a continuation of events post MGS4.

Well i wanted to keep the spoilers out but.

 

If you remember how he looks on that pic and in most of the game.. hes "robot'ish" but in the end when hes been through hell and back, he gets "Humanised" again. In other words, the jaw for instance is something he shouldn't regain after mgs4 as it seems it was something he picked up previously after loosing his original or whatever. :p

 

Raiden is a bit of a cyborg lol.

So I was thinking, Metal Gear Solid is about Solid Snake, correct? So if Solid Snake's story is over, doesn't that mean Metal Gear Solid is over?

Metal Gear Rising may be the next series of Metal Gear, taking the place of the Metal Gear Solid series.

Edit: What I'm saying is there may be no MGS5, ever.

Well, actually, Metal Gear is about the metal gear threat. Solid Snake is just a character in the Metal gear universe and the MGS series followed his story within that universe. Now his story is over, and Raiden's story begins. Notice the consistent them is Metal Gear not anything else.

No, there will probably never be a MGS 5, you're right.

Hmmm... I remember the rumors about it being focused on Sunny...

I'm not sure on the whole Sunny thing, but I think it's possible that it isn't Raiden... Yes... because of the eyes... call me crazy...

Could be Raiden's son?

EDIT: Hmmm.. forgot his son's Eye color actually...
