Forums - Sales - Why are 360 owners saying PS3 is FINISHED?

Because people have a tendency to view things through horribly warped vision, and for some reason think they actually gain by eliminating competition...

VG Competition is good. You can bet that nifty 360 thing wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nintendo. Furthermore, with the exception of Sega, how often have established consoles actually been "killed off"?

If sony has a good e3 , they will be saying the opposite

Lack of intelligence. Microsoft's conference was alright, but certainly nothing to brag about. It's nice that the 360 gets to play MGS games, but if you seriously believe that sony is done because MGS:R (which isn't confirmed to be exclusive) then....wow.

Microsofts was alright? It was completely groundbreaking! The only thing they missed was the two new Rare games.

Way to overreact.

Except for Crackdown 2 and MGS:R to a certain extent, they showed nothing that we were not aware of/did not expect.

It was a very good showing by Microsoft, but hardly groundbreaking.

It was the first showing of Splinter Cell: Conviction/Alan Wakes gameplay and both look excellent. Up until now both games were just ideas, we never knew how they would play out. They were essentially just pictures and a name.

Oh, no doubt, it was good stuff, but not even close to ''groundbreaking''.

Those weren't supposed to be ground breaking. Those were supposed to be exclusives.

That's what I don't understand. E3 isn't even over and there are tons of things left to be shown. 2 HUGE conferences that we haven't even seen yet. Would be flippin hilarious if tommrow Sony/Nintendo take a pee all over MSFTs conference.

I said this in 2 other threads already, but Sony really needs to pull out all the stops tomorrow.

Most of the best selling franchises from the PS2 era were third party. And all of those franchises have gone multiplatform.

As for first and second party stuff, Sony doesn't really have anything to counter XBox360's lineup. Yes, Trico is going to be awesome. Uncharted 2 will be awesome. Ratchet and Clank will be fun. But those games can't come close to competing against the likes of Gears of War or Halo, or even Left 4 Dead and Mass Effect.

God of War isn't going to help the PS3. Gears of War 1 outsold both God of War 1 and God of War 2 COMBINED. Sony needs something new, something fresh, and something big that can stand toe to toe with what Microsoft has lined up.

And I really doubt GT5 will be the system seller that people would make it out to be.

@palmino

wow you sound desperate

2.5 years into the PS3's life you I've realized its not a success likea PS2.

so Saving it no longer means PS2's success anymore for me for practical people not paying attention to fanboy wars.

Finished as in staying in 3rd place?....or as in another one of those nails in the coffin?...if it´s the latter, talk about some huge fucking coffin, getting those nails for more than 2 years.

Every E3 is the same thing, a lot of idiotic trolling from all sides, stupid "gamers".

And as far as the fanboys are concerned tomorrow the 360 and PS3 will be finished and two hours later the 360 and Wii will be finished. It's just the usual back and forth that shifts into overdrive around E3.

I guess then it depends on perspective. When I saw the Alan Wake gameplay the first thing I honestly thought was 'wow, people could still be playing this in 5 years time' as in it looks so slick it simply will not date as fast as other games.

Alan Wake's gameplay was awesome. I can't wait for it to come out. I was sad when it said 2010 for it though but at least I have an idea of when it comes out now.

Yeah, that helps more than anything else. But its a relief more than anything to know that we were anticipating more than just a pipe-dream.

Tease.

When comparing PS3's 2009 lineup to 360's 2009 lineup, the winner becomes a matter of preference.  In my opinion, Uncharted 2 looks so good that nothing the 360 has coming "this year" can compete.  Next year we have confirmation of AAA titles coming to 360: Alan Wake etc... however, so does the PS3: God Of War 3 etc.... not to mention Sony's E3 conference tomorrow that "could" potentially best Microsoft's conference!!  It is wrong to lock Sony out, without giving them a chance to show what they have!

Edit:  GTs have always been major sellers, and GT5: Prologue being a demo and selling that many copies can only be a precursor for what is to come with the full game.
