theRepublic, you know exactly what I am saying you are just playing devil's advocate.

Games can be fun and not immersive. Games can be immersive and not fun. Games can be immersive AND fun. Stop acting like you honestly don't know what I'm saying. I don't even know how to state it properly to meet your standards but if the graphics, the sound, the artificial intelligence meant nothing for a game then people would hate Grand Turismo and still just play Pole Position. In improving these things we improve the games. Leave retro for what it is, still fun games but outdated by the technology. I still play old games because I love old games. But at the end of the day no NES title will ever draw me in half as much as an experience like Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

All that I am getting at is that whether or not something is immersive, it has no bearing on if it can be called a game.

Well, I agree.

FaithRaven, awesome sig.

I think Natal is next gen, not this one. Not sure though. Very cool ideas with it.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

best sig ever

They just need to show a new Zelda and it's win to me...

The Wii is dead to most third party developers, but not the consumer.

The thing about Natal is that, much like Sixaxis and WM+ before it, it's motion control done wrong: too focused on 1:1 and not enough on actual gaming interfaces. The unreliable camera technology doesn't help either, nor the fact that it doesn't come with the console (a mistake it shares with WM+). This might have had a chance if there weren't already a competitor in the market that gets motion right, but as it stands, it won't last very long in the marketplace.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

Be the ultimate ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! Poisson Village welcomes new players.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Nintendo will win E3 by proving that it will do a presentation that will make tons of money over the next year. Will the core gamer like it. nope

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
