Well for the most part people were saying MGS4, which they were correct.
Anyway, cant wait for the new MGS game

A spinoff is when the stories are not canon to the series, and are to be ignored when speaking of the entire series. I don't know anything about those KH games, but if MGS:R tells the story of Raiden's dealings with Sunny and the Patriots, it's not a spinoff.

Its much more like a spin off and even if it isn't 360 exclusive I probably won't get it as I never really liked MGS 2 - But I'll wait till I see trailers/gameplkay before I defintly decide that |
Having MGS5 confirmed at the Sony conference would make sense. That way, Kojima could stay true to his stated Sony loyalty.
Keep this in mind when reading what I type...
I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.
This announcement wasn't as big as making FF multiplatform, but it was important nonetheless.
Sony................needs to do something. To make matters worse, their conference is after Nintendo's. Unless theirs is E3 08 part 2, Sony is done for.

This game is not even part of the main series, its a spin off. MGS5 is coming to PS3 and PSP
In all these threads it seems most people missed them saying that everything after MW2 was excusive to the 360.

Believe me, I'm agreeing with you. I'm just talking about technicalities

IF the game is Multiplatform, then the news isn't big at all. In the sense that the hardware push will be negligible, since every MGS diehard under the sun already has a PS3. Which would also lead to the PS3 version outselling the 360 version. Sony wouldn't so much lose as Microsoft would gain, as 360 owners who would like to try a MGS game but wouldn't buy a PS3 to play it would make up the core of the 360 sales.
If the game is 360-only, then there are going to a bunch of MGS fans forking out the dough for a new system. The Mattrick comment would make this scenario more likely, the one about "all games shown from now on..." Although this would be kind of a slap in the face to the MGS core fanbase who invested in a PS3 for MGS4, only to make them buy a 360 to play the new game.

How is Sony done for? Aside MGS, all they did was confirm things we knew were coming out, and Twitter/Facebook (which the PS3 can do ala Web Browser).
And how is it worse that they are after Nintendo, especially after their showing last E3?

And now its official that MGSR is exclusive to the 360. What were fanboys saying about multiplat again??? :)
