While I agree that the word of one douchebag is being blown out of proportion, that's what happens when you let douchebags speak for your company. Publishers need to make their employees understand that there are potential customers who hear what they have to say and make judgements based on those statements. Good will can mean the difference between whether a customer buys de Blob or Warioland.
This THQ exec is entitled to his opinion, and might not represent the opinion of THQ as a whole, but his ignorant statements are going to reverberate though web sites like this one and cost THQ customers which THQ really can't afford to lose. Ubisoft and Capcom have already been burned by the flapping gums of some of their staff, and publishers will continue to get burned until they teach their employees to either STFU or use a little diplomacy.
