I played it on the PSP a couple of years ago using the PSOne emulator hack ... still a lot of fun. I think it actually holds up better on the smaller PSP screen though ... maybe not so much on the big screen.
I want a remake. I don't care about this.
Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Maybe I'm crazy but I seem to remember that you never actually played VII.
Anyway! This is super cool. As I don't own a PS3, though, I hope it comes to some other venue as well.
Steam release, anyone?
| Johann said: This thread does not need to become FFVII hate/love war. The reason why so many people want a remake it's that they feel that it'll give new gamers a chance to experience a game that they loved very much. To me that's complete bullcrap. Seriously, if bad graphics are enough to make you not like a game (and I mean any game), well then... fuck you and your graphic whore taste in gaming. |
While normally i'd agree... FF7 is REALLY ugly. I perfer the NES remake graphics wise.

I want a remake badly because I never owned a PS1 or FFVII since I was only 4 when it came out, a PS3 remake would convince me to buy the console (along with a combination of other factors) so I could actually play the game

What does it mean when they say it was rated for PSP also? Can you download and play PSOne classics on a PSP, or is a UMD release also possible?
I played the PC version of 7 back in the day, but can't seem to get it to cooperate with WIndows nowadays. If it is playable on PSP that might be enough to get me to buy one.

I don't know a lot about this stuff so don't blame me if this is way off. I think that they'd directly port the game to the PSP with slight graphical touches so it can fit on one UMD disc, but the PS3 version would include a massive graphical upgrade, translation error fixes, and added content.

Final Fantasy VII still looks great.
Those pre-renderd backgrounds Square used in their games, and also Capcom did in some, still look great because of the clearness and color and detail pre-renderd backgrounds have.
