Forums - Nintendo - So High Voltage developing five Wii games (one is multiplat)

This is actually quite incredible.

I'm guessing a fair amount of resources have been pumped into this company. Surprising given that this is all because of one not yet released game.

Highly impressive.

Then again, if it wasn't for some unknown developer putting their livelihoods on the line, we wouldn't have Final Fantasy.

Its amazing how quickly the profile of High Voltage has risen really. I mean if you asked me who they were before The Conduit was announced I wouldn't have had a clue, and now they are being touted as one of the Wii's huge devs before they have even released a single retail game for it.

They've released a few actually :P like 2 or 3 Wii Ware games and that Dora the Explorer game that everyone brushes under the rug lol but hey gotta pay the development bills somehow :

Didn't know about the Dora the Explorer one, but I specified retail so I could ignore the WiiWare ones =P

Well, let's hope they're all good.

25 days until The Conduit comes...I wish I knew somebody that could break the street date for me, because I want this game yesterday!

Astro Boy for gba is a great and addictive game, but it is in 2D, I don't know how a Astroboy 3D will work.

The five games looks interesting.

You forgot about Ben 10, which sold a million on Wii.

It's not that hard to develop a few games concurrently. Take for example The Conduite & The Grinder. What difference are these games? They are both FPS, this means that the core programmer don't need redo the FPS elements again. They will need a programmer to put in specific features though. Like the extra monsters and monster AI. Once the artists were done on the The Conduit they switched to other games.

Games like DMC, AC2.... tend to have a single team develop a single game. Even when a part is done the team doesn't really move on. So a team doesn't do concurrent development.

The Grinder might be fun. As long as you have someone to play with.
