The only way that you are going to get rid of those threads is..........well, you can't really. Changing the generation isn't going to make it go away. It's been there since the beginning......we just didn't have the internet around back then to make everyone else more aware. To get away from all of it, I suppose you can leave the internet forever, but that probably isn't feasible nowadays. This gen, next gen, 10 gens from now, it'll be the same thing. Accept that, ignore them and enjoy playing your games, whatever system they may be on.

Someone's been drinking too much of the marketing Kool-Aid this gen.

Why would I look particularly forward to the next generation? This gen is fine, as frankly was the last gen and the gen before that, going all the way back. Games haven't magically gotten better over time.



Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Yea man, no point in waiting another 12 months for some games. Get a console that has some you like.

 

God of War 3 is the only reason I can come up with to buy or play on the PS3 as well.

NOOOOOOOOO I have a current generation backlog of at least 15 games and the number is only getting higher. For gods sake motion plus is not even out yet.

Not to mention the new games coming out are still pushing the consoles.
