Forums - Nintendo - Phantom Brave pushed back to support Japanese language!

That is good news, August won't exactly be a busy month

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

That is great news. Will make the game much better for me. Hopefully more games start to do this too. I really don't see the point of dubs in niche games like these. The audience that buys the games seem to prefer subs, and subs are probably MUCH cheaper and easier to make. I could see a more mainstream game might have it, since the average person prefers dubs to reading. It's always nice to have both options though.

That's something NiS & Atlus do frequently... good move in my eyes.

Man, screw the people who insisted on the utterly unnecessary Japanese language tracks and delayed this for two whole monthes.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

thats still not a reason to spend $49.99 on phantom brave....

Am I the only one who doesn't prefer Japanese voice overs? For games like Ninja Gaiden they're cool because it adds to the atmosphere, but for games like this?? No thanks.

NIS games usually have good English voice work anyway.

Great. Too many games coming out in June anyways. Will be a nice end of summer compliment to Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I';; also take Japanese voice overs over the English one any day.  So good move all around.

Sometimes they work better. Play the .hack series.

Wonderful news! I will get this for sure. Well, I would've got this anyway :)

No you aren't the only one. I like to be able to actually understand the words the characters are speaking.
