You compare it to the highest selling game of all time which dwarfs sales of most games. 

I thought Wii Sports sales don't count because it's a pack in.

You conveniently failed to address any of the posts pointing out that the guy you quote in the OP has never made a game for the Wii and is not talking about Wii games.

If you are going to try to make a point you could try to get your facts straight or at the very least acknowledge when you have made an error.  Otherwise this is just ANOTHER, hardcore games don't sell on the Wii thread.  You think core games shouldn't be made for the Wii but the list of developers who disagree with you is growing now on a daily basis.

Alright, lemme see if I understand...

You've quoted a guy who isn't talking about the Wii at all.  In order to prove a point about how other developers feel about sales of their games on the Wii like, for instance, Suda 51.  Despite the fact that, according to what I've heard, Suda 51 was in fact pleased about the sales of NMH.  And NMH is getting a sequel.  And also despite the fact that you seem to be misconstruing the very thing you've quoted:  this isn't a guy lamenting poor sales; it's a guy explaining how aiming for huge sales hasn't been the driving force behind his previous games.

Of course everyone would like a bajillion-seller.  But that doesn't mean that some people don't have more modest goals, or can't be satisfied with more moderate success.

You say games like there's more then one, and you say PS3 like it's exclusive... it's a partnership with EA... >_>  at first I thought you were just misinformed now it's quite certain this is a troll account.

Do you really mean that?  It just... doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

If you were in the business of making video games for almost any reason (to express yourself artistically, to make money, whatever), wouldn't you be interested in trying to crack all of the major markets?  If nothing else but as an experiment, wouldn't you want to eventually release something on every major console?  At least, I imagine that I would.

And besides, being "pleased" with sales, or the word I used--"satisfied"--doesn't mean you stop there.  For most people, especially the driven kind, you accomplish and then you look forward to new accomplishments.  If NMH was his best-selling game, I'm sure he's interested in topping it with the next one... and then topping the new record with the game after that.  I mean, isn't that how it works?

But none of it means that he wasn't happy with how NMH performed.  You can be happy with how you did and still want to do better the next time around.  Right?

You are definitly right. Considering how small a choice of serious Wii core games is those games should be selling millions just from lack of competition.

Many people like to argue Okami sold badly on PS2 too - yes but compare library it was competing with and what games Okami had as opponents on Wii.

It certainly wasn't competing with God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, or Final Fantasy XII.



Looks at the list of upcoming "core" games for Wii.......1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19.........30... Yeah developers sure doesn't feel like doing "core" games for the Wii.

Of course there are lots of examples of core games on the Wii that haven't sold. There are also examples on HD consoles. To say core games don't sell on the Wii is an oversimplification that ignores all those core games that have sold (e.g. Red Steel, Star Wars, not to mention Nintendo's core games).
