With that big of an install base, developers would be crazy not to throw more support behind the wii. Hopefully the quality goes up along with the support.

woopah said: @ dante no way will it be balanced in terms of exclusives. there are hardly any HD exclusives. can u think of any? @ beoulve infinite discover lauhed this year in PAL i think, thats why ithought it was a 2009 title
No, it was released in 2008 as well.
Whilst the Wii has finally gotten the 3rd-party support, I don't think it's been detrimental to either of the HD consoles. The biggest western titles are still comming out on the PS3 & 360. A lot of the bigger publishers invested heavily in the HD consoles early on so the tech is already available to use. I doubt there going to significantly reduce the amount of HD support considering that early investment.
Even though publishers such as EA are investing more on Wii, I still don't see them taking it seriously. A lot of the stuff tends to be simplified or toned down.
Kind of, but not as much as you'd believe.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
I think we're starting to see parity, equal support, from a lot of publishers. Even Capcom and Ubisoft are stepping up to that point now.
Activision seems to be the new holdout.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
^^ Oddly as they have made a mountain of money on Wii thus far.
My themeforest portfolio:
I don't think there have been too many games that are moving away from HD and going to Wii. Some of the games you listed are geared specifically to a "Wii" audience (Spyborgs, Boom Blox) and some are multiplatform (Harry Potter, NFS).
But you're absolutely right in saying that the Wii is getting a lot more support from third parties this year. Just looking down that list makes me realize that once Nintendo adds their own '09 lineup to the mix (Pikmin 3, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, and one more hardcore game in fall/winter), this year will end up being a pretty darn good one for us Wii owners.
# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):
360: 241 DS: 144
PS3: 152 PSP: 126
Wii: 85
woopah said: id say wii vs HD, what notable HD third party exclusives have released this year? also NMH2 is coming from ubisoft but thats next year, i mention it in the thread Battlefront 3 isnt confirmed for this year and isnt confrimed to still be in development. apparently rebbelion has been having problems after they screwede over free radical grrrr
Well as far as HD third party exclusives go.....
Sacred 2
Red Faction: Guerilla
Star Ocean 4
Bionic Commando
Cross Edge
Resident Evil 5
Street Fighter 4
Chronicles of Riddick
Skate 2
FEAR 2
GTA4 DLC
Legends of Wrestlemania
Here the ones that have released in the past 5 months that are third party HD exclusives and that have a 70% or better average review score on Gamerankings.
Soriku said: @outlaw I think when he meant HD exclusives he just meant one HD console, so some of those don't count. Anyway, it's closer to 50-50 nowadays. It's really good third parties are stepping up to the plate.
Ah, but I said Wii vs. HD rather than Wii vs. PS3 and 360.
Isn't the idea that developers are fleeing HD consoles and only making Wii games now?
@ outlawron
sorry. by wii Vs HD i meant wii exclusive vs HD games exclusive to either PS3 or 360. sorry for the confusion, its my fault.
but yeah taking that into account it does negate most of the games in that list. though i admit that i forgot about star ocean 4 (probably cos it hasnt released here in the UK yet). its quite a scray thought the cost of development has almost ended exclusivity on the HD consoles.
