Forums - Nintendo - has their been a shift in third party support towards wii and away from HD?

The Wii shift has been a long time coming, but it's most definitely here. The EA announcement that they were devoting half their resources to Wii games was the final blow, and it's been followed by a lot of other western dev support. And with Activision stating that they really need to get more exclusive Wii content out there as well.

As for Japan, Sega and Capcom are doing pretty good, and I'm sure we'll find out a lot more soon from Square-Enix. Seriously, they're not going to announce Dragon Quest 10 for Wii and leave it at that. There's definitely more big stuff on the way from them.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Where's the Battlefront 3 from Lucas Arts? It was announced at E3 last year and it's coming to PS3, 360 and Wii :P

HVS is a developer, plus only on of their titles is set for this year and ive placed it under sega. im not jumping on your bandwagon of treating HVS as a publisher :P

Whoops, hehe.  Missed the word 'publisher'.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

i think that in terms of third party exclusives that wii will ''win'' this year

As in Wii vs. Ps3 vs. 360 or Wii vs. HD?

I'd say Wii vs. Ps3 vs. 360

The wii can challenge either system in third-party exclusives.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

woops :) my bad, NMH2 FTW!!!

Infinite Undiscovery? That game was released september last year. Maybe you were thinking of Star Ocean?

Anyway, the wii has had a good amount of 3rd party support this year. I don't think it's having a big impact on the support for HD consoles though.

I'd say Wii vs HD will be balanced throughout this year in terms of exclusives from big publishers. Since Wii has almost half of the market and HD consoles have the other half I can understand why developers and publishers would go 50% and 50% with their releases.

@ dante

no way will it be balanced in terms of exclusives. there are hardly any HD exclusives. can u think of any?

@ beoulve

infinite discover lauhed this year in PAL i think, thats why ithought it was a 2009 title
